Including Means Securing Molding Device To Detachable, Separate And Distinct Support Patents (Class 249/139)
  • Patent number: 4156516
Abstract: A reusable mold for shaping moldable material comprising a flexible freestanding wall capable of being formed in any desired shape to form the contour of the material to be molded, and a method for assembling and using the mold. The mold may include several interconnecting sections and means to hold the mold tightly against a base section to prevent leakage of the moldable material. Preprinted designs may be provided for shaping the mold to follow a desired design outline.

  • Patent number: 4100249
Abstract: A pair of like mold parts are juxtaposed to form a mold cavity having a relatively large maximum cross-sectional size and an opening of relatively small cross-sectional size. A core is positioned in this cavity and has a body of cross-sectional size greater than that of the mold-cavity opening and having a neck extending out of the cavity through the opening and blocking this opening. A mass of hardenable material is introduced into the cavity around the core and is hardened. Thereafter the core is elastically deformed and withdrawn from inside the hardened mass whereupon the mold parts are displaced apart to demold the hardened mass.

  • Patent number: 4045153
Abstract: Molding apparatus for molding articles without a seam or parting line even though the molded articles may have severe backdraft portions. The apparatus includes a one-piece flexible mold which is deformable subject to the application of fluid pressure, a vacuum pot large enough to accommodate the flexible mold therein and means for applying vacuum to the pot such that the mold may be expanded by the vacuum thereby releasing the molded article. The vacuum pot is provided with upwardly extending projections positioned in the bottom of the pot and the mold is provided with a restraining ring member for supporting the mold wall and for acting in conjunction with the upwardly extending projection to control the mode of expansion of the mold.

  • Patent number: 4023771
Abstract: Improvements in three-piece concrete pipe molds and means and devices for handling and transporting such molds both when filled and empty; improvements in mold handling apparatus, or devices attachable both to the lift mechanism of a vehicle and a three-piece pipe mold and useable for such purposes; a versatile adaptor which will handle and transport, in its various configurations, concrete pipe molds of the most varied sizes and configurations when mounted on the lift mechanism of a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 3990672
Abstract: A portable, reusable concrete form is set forth. At least two substantially identical wall sections have inner walls cooperating with one another to form an elongate cavity of desired transverse cross-sectional shape, being that of the concrete product to be formed. Each of the wall sections also has an outer wall with connecting walls spacing the outer walls from the inner walls, to form elongate spaces therebetween which are filled with insulating material. This enables the concrete to be poured in colder weather than otherwise. The wall sections also have cooperating means for enabling the inner walls to be positioned in registry and the sections have means for releasably holding them in assembled relationship when the concrete is poured. The form also preferably includes a base member which holds the lower ends of the wall sections in position and an upper collar member which helps to hold the upper ends of the wall sections in position.

  • Patent number: 3989220
Abstract: A shaker molding assembly. The assembly includes mold halves which are urged together as they are pushed into a holder. A measuring cup can be held against the mold halves to urge them into the holder. Ribs on the mold halves cooperate with a frusto-conic wall of the holder to urge the mold halves together. A mixture of water and a molding powder are shaken together in the assembly to form a smooth mixture. The molding powder includes an alkali metal alginate, calcium sulfate, tetrasodium pyrophosphate, and a filler. The mixture sets to form a jelly-like object which dries to form a rigid object of smaller size which is a substantially exact miniature of the jelly-like object.

  • Patent number: 3982721
Abstract: Molding apparatus for molding articles without a seam or parting line even though articles may have severe backdraft portions. The apparatus includes a one-piece flexible mold which is deformable by the application of a fluid pressure differential to thereby release the finished article from the mold. The mold has a self-supporting, radially extending annular flange which forms a seal with a vacuum pot when the mold is set in the pot and the flange has a downwardly extending annular projection or lip which fits freely over the outside diameter of the side wall of the pot. The downwardly extending projection is of sufficient inside diameter to allow the flange to be easily set upon or removed from the vacuum pot and the flange also has sufficiently close tolerances with respect to the outside diameter of the pot as to accurately align and center the mold in the pot.

  • Patent number: 3980269
Abstract: Molding apparatus for molding hollow articles without a seam or parting line even though the articles may have backdraft or undercut portions on both the inside and outside surfaces. The apparatus includes a generally one-piece flexible mold having a generally thick self-supporting wall construction which is deformable by the application of a fluid pressure differential. The mold includes a generally hollow outer portion and a generally hollow inner portion integrally formed with and extending upwardly from the bottom wall of the outer portion, said mold portions defining an upwardly opening generally annular cavity into which hardenable material is placed.

  • Patent number: 3977646
Abstract: Mold apparatus for the manufacture and molding of structural members such as I-beams and concrete girders which has a permanent pallet supported and maintained in a level condition by parallel beams affixed to a concrete base. The pallet is made up of a plurality of sections mounted on the beams and aligned and rigidly connected together. A pair of side forms are provided on the pallet which are readily removable and replaceable by other forms depending upon the particular structure being molded, each such form having a horizontal foundation part which extends to the edge of the pallet where a strip is welded to position the mold as desired on the pallet. The inner portion of the foundation part merges with a molding part extending upwardly in each form and terminating in an upper flange extending horizontally and outwardly at the top of the form. A plurality of vertical stiffener plates connect the various parts of each form to provide rigidity.
