  • Patent number: 11964408
Abstract: A universally adaptable waffle-cavity form and methods for constructing a waffle panel are described. The waffle-cavity form is provided with a standard shape and size and can be easily adapted to alter the dimensions thereof. The form can be cut down and combined with one or more other cut down forms to provide a combined form with desired dimensions. The forms can also be combined without first being cut down through the use of a saddle that is placed over a joint therebetween. A plurality of the forms can be affixed to a mold decking in a desired arrangement using anchors installed therebetween to form a mold that is reusable to produce multiple waffle panels.

A resilient face insert at the bottom of the form imparts an ornamental appearance to the front face of the block. The form has four sides which pivot at their bottom between a closed position for casting a block and an open position which permits removing the cast block from the form. Preferably, the cast block has parallel top and bottom surfaces and angled sides. Sides of the form form a groove in the bottom of the block which extends parallel to and spaced from the front face and form knobs which project above the top of the block for alignment with a grooves on adjacent stacked blocks forming a retaining wall. The block is formed with two lifting points, one for removal of the block from the form and one for moving the block when constructing a retaining wall.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for producing a blade (13; 14) comprising two outer walls (17, 18) and at least one cavity (24; 25; 26; 27) between said outer walls (17, 18), for a turbine (10), using an outer mould (30) and several cores (34, 35) for forming the outer walls (17, 18) and the at least one cavity (24; 25; 26; 27) of the blade (13, 14). At least one of the cavities (26; 27) is divided into two channels (26a, 26b; 27a, 27b) by a middle segment (28). One channel (26a; 27a) is located between the first outer wall (17) and the middle segment (28), while the other channel (26b; 27b) is located between the middle segment (28) and the second outer wall (18). Two cores (34, 35) which are separate from each other are used accordingly. This provides a simple and economical means of reducing the thickness (d) of the outer walls (17, 18).

  • Patent number: 6485623
Abstract: A device for forming angled wells in an electrophoresis gel slab includes a device having a plurality of projections oriented at an angle with respect to a longitudinal dimension of the device. A method for forming angled wells in a gel places the device in a gel forming material and allows the material to polymerize to form the electrophoresis gel slab. The device can be removed from the gel slab without distorting or tearing the gel and forming a plurality of substantially uniform sample wells oriented at an angle with respect to the edge of the gel slab. The sample wells are dimensioned to contain a liquid sample for electrophoresis separation. The gel slab can be rotated 90° so that the sample wells are oriented along a vertical edge of the gel slab with the sample wells retaining the liquid sample therein.

Abstract: A mold has outer mold parts and inserted molding material cores. Together, the parts and cores form a mold cavity. The inner cores of molding material are arranged in several layers one above the other. The inner cores are clamped in between the outer mold parts and a final covering core of mold material. A continuous clamping force is applied between the parts and cores. The mold cavity is formed by surfaces of the outer mold, surfaces of the inner cores and the covering core.

Abstract: The side walls of a mold have recesses in each of which is mounted a mold core for forming depressions on the outer side of a concrete block which is to be produced in this mold. The mold cores are pivotally supported around a horizontal axis which is parallel to the mold walls on the outer side of the mold. A sloping cam slot on each mold core is used to pivot the mold cores into the mold cavity defined by the mold walls and then back into the recess. The inner edges of a recess closely fit the mold core and function as strippers which self-clean all surfaces of the mold core which have come into contact with the concrete when the mold core is pivoted back into its recess. As a result, time intervals for cleaning the mold cores are greatly lengthened and a clean and smooth surface of the finished concrete block is insured.

Abstract: A guide block assembly is provided for retaining fiber bore forming pins and guide pin bore forming pins in precise relation to each other during the molding of a ferrule used in a multi-fiber connection. The assembly may include a top portion and a bottom portion with corresponding fiber and guide pin bore grooves formed on a surface of the top and bottom portions. When the top and bottom portions are assembled, the corresponding fiber and guide pin bore grooves form fiber and guide pin bores, respectively. The assembly may also include another portion that form additional bores with either the top or the bottom portion.

  • Patent number: 6299432
Abstract: A mold for forming a dielectric housing for a card edge connector, wherein the housing has an elongated body defining a central slot for receiving a lower edge of a memory module. The elongated body has two lateral ends each formed with a tower for pivotably receiving an ejector for latching or ejecting the memory module received by the connector. A number of contact passageways are defined beside the slot for receiving a number of contacts therein for electrically engaging with golden fingers on the lower edge of the memory module. The mold has a gate located proximate to a lateral end face of one of the towers of the housing to be formed by the mold, and a number of core pins in the cavity for forming the contact passageways. The core pins located nearest to the gate have a cross section larger than that of the other core pins so that they are strong enough to withstand a fluctuation of a high pressure for injecting molten plastics into the mold.

The apparatus includes a cake pan blank foldable into a cake pan, a grid insert template and one or more space-occupying insert blanks foldable into space-occupying inserts. The grid template insert contains removable grid-defined sections which sections are selectively removable so as to leave openings in the grid template insert. The space-occupying inserts are interfitted with the openings and the grid template insert and space-occupying inserts are then placed into the cake pan so that the volume of the cake pan not occupied by the space-occupying inserts takes the shape of a letter or numeral for receiving batter.
