Including Means To Attached To Flange Of Beam Patents (Class 249/211)
  • Patent number: 3993279
Abstract: A hanger comprising a pair of cast ends secured to one another by a tie rod having enlarged upset heads disposed for engagement with ends. The ends also include shoulders disposed beneath the rod for abutting engagement with an element upon which the hanger is supported. In use, the hanger is supported on a support element with the rod spanning the element and the shoulders engaged with opposite sides of the element. As thus positioned, loads imparted to the ends apply tension to the tie rod and compression to the support element.

  • Patent number: 3989219
Abstract: For use in establishing the prescribed elevation difference between an adjustably movable deck member and a relatively stationary support member, an elevation gauge comprising a case, a float disposed in the case and guided for vertical movement, a lead screw for moving the float, a scale carried by the float to extend vertically upwardly and to cooperate with an indicator pointer carried by the case to indicated lower selected vertical position of the float, a second float guided for vertical movement on the case, and a signal device for providing an output when the second float is in a preselected elevational position relative to the first float. The signal device cooperates between the floats, and the case is adapted to rest on one of the members while the said second float is adapted to rest on the other of said members. A plurality of bolt assemblies is provided for adjustably supporting the deck member on the support member.

  • Patent number: 3960357
Abstract: An improved deck form supporting system for supporting sectional floor forms between bridge girders, for example concrete girders on top of which floor forms cementitious material is poured to form a concrete floor. The novel supporting system is located below the sectional floor forms and includes a series of evenly spaced wedges, usually triangular in shape, placed along the lower inclined or slanted surfaces of the suppoting girders (FIG. 4) along with a series of "L" shaped brackets which mate with the horizontal and vertical surfaces of said wedges (FIG. 5), the brackets having vertical and horizontal tubular extensions having jackscrew sections therein, the combination being used to support on "U" shaped shoring brackets (FIG. 3) horizontally, laterally disposed forming members placed between the bridge girders (FIG. 2) to support the floor forms.

  • Patent number: 3954248
Abstract: A hanger for supporting a spanner beam used in the construction of bridge decks and the like. A bracket includes a flat tongue which rests on a girder and opposed side plates which receive one end of the spanner beam therebetween. A camming pin is inserted through opposed openings in the side plates and rotated to become tightly lodged in a supportive position beneath the spanner beam. A Z-shaped accessory plate may be used to support the bracket in an alternative position a short distance below the top of the girder. A leveling mechanism which rests on top of the girder receives the bracket tongue and is adjustable in order to vary the elevation of the spanner beam.
