A mold that has a transparent portion, and having an interior volume in the desired shape, is filled with photomonomer resin. The material for the transparent portion of the mold is selected to be a material that is index-matched to the photomonomer resin. The filled mold, placed into a bath of transparent fluid index-matched to the transparent portion of the mold, and illuminated, from outside the fluid, through a photomask, with collimated light. The collimated light travels through the photomask forming beams of light that enter the transparent fluid, propagate into the mold, and form a micro-truss structure in the shape of the interior volume of the mold. The micro-truss structure may then be removed from the mold, or part or all of the mold may be left adhered to the micro-truss structure, forming covering face sheets.

Abstract: A concrete forming system combining the ease of erection and load carrying capabilities of scaffolding with a simplified erection system. Scaffold frames provide the vertical support and walers, supported by and spanning from scaffold frame to scaffold frame, provide the horizontal support. The wet concrete's hydrostatic pressure is placed on the walers, which transfer the load to the scaffold frames that act like trusses. The scaffold frames have at least two legs and are secured at their bottom to perform as a cantilever or, when the hydrostatic pressure is greater, they are secured at their bottoms and tops to perform as a truss fixed at both ends. As such, this forming system does not use form ties which results in an obstacle free form face and facilitates forms that simply hang from the walers.

Abstract: A grade bracket for use with concrete form systems is disclosed. In one embodiment, the grade bracket forms part of a concrete form system that includes a plurality of form components, including straight forms, curved radius forms, and skin panels for interconnecting form components. The form components are assembled atop a ground surface and are configured to define a volume for containing poured concrete. Grade brackets for supporting the form components at a desired grade above the ground are used. Each grade bracket includes a body, a form support member, and a grade knob. The form support member attaches to the body and includes a bracket portion that supports the form component. The grade knob includes an eye-bolt. A stake secured in the ground is selectively engaged by the eye-bolt of the grade knob such that the grade bracket is maintained at a desired position on the stake.

Abstract: A brace for securing concrete forms to a base has first and second triangularly-shaped sidewalls and a back wall extending between corresponding side edges of the sidewalls. A peripheral flange extends outwardly from the side edges of the sidewalls and the ends of the back wall and has apertures for facilitating fastening of the brace to the concrete forms and a casting surface. Advantageously, the brace can be formed as a unitary, molded component. A battering wedge is selectively attachable to the side edges of the sidewalls and cooperates with the brace to facilitate tilting the concrete form at an angle to the casting surface. The battering wedge is selectively frangible to permit use with braces of varying size.

Abstract: An adjustable concrete form support bracket for bracing a concrete form. The adjustable concrete form bracket includes a body, a stake receiving member, and an interconnecting means for adjustably coupling the body and the stake receiving member together. The body is attachable to a concrete form, and the stake receiving member is constructed to receive a stake inserted into the ground to support the concrete form. The interconnecting means operates to adjust the lateral position of the stake receiving member to adjust the spacing between the concrete form and the stake, and thus, the horizontal or lateral position of the concrete form across the ground surface. In this manner, the stake does not need to be removed from the ground so permit this repositioning of the concrete form. The stake receiving member may include a stake securing means to permit grade adjustment of the concrete form.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for introducing vertical built-in parts into structures erected with a sliding formwork, particularly in annular concrete walls, and a device for performing the method. In order to be able to use inexpensive sliding formworks when erecting structures, e.g. silos and tanks, where there are absolutely surface-flush built-in parts required, a slide fastener-like system is provided for introducing said vertical built-in parts. The inventive slide fastener system provides guide anglepieces, which are fixed in clamping devices of the sliding formwork and temporarily engage behind guide bolts fixed to the front of the vertical built-in parts. Following the production of the concrete wall or the introduction of the vertical built-in parts the guide bolts are removed again from the vertical built-in parts, e.g. by separating cutting or splitting.
