  • Patent number: 4865794
Abstract: A method of integrally molding a member to be molded onto a portion of a rigid member, which method is applied to manufacture of a connecting rod used in a crank device of a wiper system in a motor vehicle, for example. In this method of molding, a portion to be positioned is formed in the rigid member, a portion of the rigid member is inserted into a cavity for molding the member to be molded in such a manner that the portion to be positioned is exposed in the cavity, positioning members linearly movably provided in this cavity are engaged with this portion to be positioned to effect positioning, the positioning members are retracted to the outside of the portion to be positioned after the positioning, and thereafter, a molding material is poured into the cavity to mold the member to be molded.

  • Patent number: 4861538
Abstract: Method for molding a composite metal-elastomer styled wheel in which a middle mold part consists of a metal wheel disc and rim subassembly. A base mold part seats against the outboard face of the metal wheel in the closed condition of the mold and has a mold cavity surface to provide an ornamental configuration for the outboard face of the plastic body of the composite wheel. There is a clamp which includes a funnel adapted for registry with a liquid reaction mixture injection nozzle coupled with injecting mixing apparatus. The funnel has a nozzle passage registering with a pour opening in the disc in the closed condition of the mold. A sprue pin is affixed to the base mold part in juxtaposed relation to the disc pour opening and cooperates with the margin of the pour opening to define a restricted access opening to the mold cavity during the injection pour of the urethane reaction mixture. The sprue pin is operable to restrict back-flow of the reaction material during gelation of the same in the cure cycle.

  • Patent number: 4710124
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for selectively separating runners and molded products from an injection mold assembly. The apparatus comprises first and second mold portions having mating surfaces formed to define a runner channel and product cavity. A plurality of ejector pins are disposed within the second mold portion and adapted to translate within the second mold portion so as to retractably extend into the cavities for forming the runner and molded product. An ejector plate assembly is provided which translates the ejector pins a predetermined distance within the mold. A pin extension mechanism is connected to the ejector plate assembly and at least one ejector pin. The pin extension mechanism is adapted to selectively extend the connected ejector pin a predetermined distance beyond the stroke of the ejector plate assembly such that the connected pin is extended into contact with the channels for forming the runner, or the molded product.

  • Patent number: 4023767
Abstract: A mold box and mold head that are interfitted together to mold concrete blocks. The mold box has two sides and two ends forming a continuous flange around it and two laterally spaced partitions equally spaced between the two ends, one partition being in the form of a straight bar, and the other, in the form of three spaced boss members. Upwardly-extending bosses that are generally plate-like are fixed to rods which extend across laterally, parallel to the ends. The head is made up of a plate-like member having spaced plate-like members attached to it. The spaced plate-like members cooperate with the partitions in the mold box to form a concrete block therein. The resulting block is tongued on one side and grooved on the other and the top is tongued and the bottom grooved for interlocking purposes. The interior section contains three rows of cells providing greater insulation and saving of material.
