  • Patent number: 4834638
Abstract: A tube container molding apparatus in which a cylindrical tube is inserted into a split mold in its closed state so that the end section of the tube comes into contact with a cavity face of the split mold. A core is then advanced to fit into the tube from its rear end, and finally a resin melt is introduced into the cavity formed by the cavity face of the split mold and the end face of the core. When the resin melt is injected into the cavity, a tube holding piece pushes the tube against the core to prevent the tube from being drawn out of the cavity.Midway during the advance of the core into the tube, the tube is held by the tube holding piece and the further advance of the tube is made together with the core. Thus, the forward end section of the tube is bent inward to a prescribed width.

  • Patent number: 4751032
Abstract: Refrigerating cabinets of different sizes and shapes may be manufactured by the use of a single positioning member. Thus, the positioning member has a configuration which is adjustable to adapt to the particular shape of a given inner housing of refrigerating cabinet. When the adjustment is made, the performed housing is fixedly positioned on the thus adjusted positioning member. Previously formed outer walls of the particular cabinet involved then are positioned about the thus positioned housing, with a space being defined between the housing and the outer walls. The positioning member further includes elements which may be employed to partially form a foaming jig. This total unit then is moved to a simplified foaming unit, whereafter the formation of the foaming jig is completed, and insulation material is foamed into the space between the housing and the outer walls.

  • Patent number: 4626299
Abstract: A fixture (50) is used to precisely locate the horizontal (20, 30) and vertical (10) guideways on the bed (40) of a grinding machine. After locating the guideways (10, 20, 30), a bonding material (70) is placed in the spaces (1, 2, 3) between the guideways (10, 20, 30) and grinding machine bed (40). After the fixture (50) is removed, bolts (80) are tightened to apply a compressive force on the bonding material (70) located between the vertical guideway (10) and the machine tool bed (40).

  • Patent number: 4618464
Abstract: A top concrete section for a manhole assembly is cast with a plurality of bolt slot inserts each insert having a substantially inverted T-shaped hollow interior for slideably receiving a nut which may be moved to any desired position along the base of the insert for threadedly engaging a threaded rod employed to rigidly secure a cast iron cover frame to the top section. The method for casting a manhole top section comprises the steps of releasably mounting each insert within the mould assembly by means of a retaining slide which itself is slideably received within a pair of holding brackets provided on each of the inner and outer mould members, the insert being substantially fully closed on all sides thereof and having a top surface formed of a thin web which is easily fractured or cut away after the top manhole section is cast. The fully enclosed insert prevents any concrete from entering into the interior thereof.

  • Patent number: 4580757
Abstract: Apparatus for making a molded plastic roller with embedded bearings. The roller is formed directly on a bearing or the like by injecting plastic into a mold by way of an umbrella sprue. The tool parts are arranged so that the shearing surface, formed after shearing off of the sprue residue when the mold is opened, is located on the outer surface of the inner collar portion. The molding tool comprises two tool parts for forming the outer surfaces of the rolling body, at least one tool part having a molding portion for forming an annular recess in the roller, and a cylindrical tool part inserted in the bearing, or the like and having a mushroom-shaped head. A back taper of the molding portion for forming the annular recess and the edge of the head together define an annular clearance through which plastic material is injected.

  • Patent number: 3933334
Abstract: A valve seat for a butterfly valve having an annular, rigid reinforcement ring embedded in a body of molded elastomeric material. The seat has a pair of diametrically aligned shaft openings for the valve disc supporting and actuating shaft. These holes extend through the elastomeric material and the reinforcement ring and, during molding of the elastomeric material, are occupied by removable cores which center the reinforcement ring about the cores between the end faces of the mold and position it concentrically between the inner and outer circumferential walls of the mold cavity. To prevent the reinforcement ring from rotating about the cores and to center it positively between the end faces of the mold, a pair of aligned pins are provided, one in each of the mold end faces, which clamp the reinforcement ring between them. These pins are located circumferentially along the reinforcement ring approximately halfway between the cores.
