Hole Extends Through Mold Wall Patents (Class 249/97)
  • Patent number: 11842876
Abstract: A single bolt fuse assembly and method to connect a single bolt fuse to a circuit or device are disclosed. The single bolt fuse assembly enables the single bolt fuse to be used on any electrical device having a hole suitable for receiving a threaded shaft and connectable to a circuit or device that electrically connects to a female battery or power cable. The apparatus includes a separate high-conductive metal terminal that mates with the stud that mechanically attaches the fuse between the electrical devices. The stud is insulated to avoid becoming part of the electrical circuit and to ensure proper operation of the fuse. By mechanically attaching the stud to the metal terminal, the stud is unlikely to get separated from the fuse.

The guide is fixed to the mobile slip form machine (with the exception of the vertical adjustment of the guide relative to the slip form machine), and travels with the machine as fresh concrete is introduced into the slip form mold of the machine.

  • Patent number: 6120723
Abstract: A concrete footing for the construction of a wall is created by the placement of a guide member with a series of very large holes, which is supported with adjustable threaded stake supports. This guide is situated along a location which will become the top surface of that footing, typically within the confines of a footing trench. Concrete is conventionally placed via a pump through the large holes thus filling the trench void up to the guide element underside. Adjacent guides are attached with plastic connectors which also fixture vertical reinforcing elements which disassemble to strip guides, typically immediately after concrete has been placed.

  • Patent number: 6059257
Abstract: A universal bracket holds an object in place on the inside surface of a mold frame while settable material in a fluid state is poured into the frame and allowed to harden so that thereafter the frame and bracket can be removed to produce a fixed structure in the shape of the frame with the object embedded on the face of the fixed structure. The universal bracket has a plurality of wall members interconnected to form a shape corresponding to the outline of the object to be held by the bracket. Each wall member has an inside lateral continuous surface for engaging an outside lateral surface of the object. Each wall member also has an outside lateral continuous surface with an alternate pattern of lands and slots. The alternate pattern begins with a land at one end of the wall member and ends with a slot at the other end of the wall member. The land end of each wall member is adjacent to the slot end of the adjacent wall member of the bracket.

  • Patent number: 5954261
Abstract: A mold for joining conductors such as stranded cable to each other and to other elements such as a ground rod is formed of two or more parts. The mold formed by the parts includes a weld chamber. Exothermic welding material in a crucible above forms molten metal which drops into the weld chamber through a tap hole. The mold includes sleeving passages extending upwardly at an angle from horizontal to exit the mold well above the level of molten metal forming the weld. The sleeving passages extending upwardly at an angle from the weld chamber, or as a V with two symmetrical passages, are preferably larger than normal passages and accordingly will accommodate a wide variety of cable sizes without interference with or abrasion of the sleeving passages. This enables one mold to accommodate more sizes, avoids the use of packing, adapter sleeves or shims, and maintains the weld chamber well vented.

  • Patent number: 5900180
Abstract: A disposable object form line for use in horizontal casting of building panels from settable material in which at least one side has an exposed face of embedded objects. The object form liner is comprised of a thin support sheet having an adhesive coating on one side. A closed cell plastic grid having ridges which define openings sized to fit the outer perimeter of the intended objects is provided. The grid is adhered to the adhesive coating on the support sheet. Retarder strips may be inserted in each opening to prevent contamination of the face of the object during the pouring process. The form liner is placed in the bottom of a horizontal mold. The objects, such as bricks, are positioned in the openings provided in the layout form liner and the settable material is poured into the mold to form a construction panel. After setting, the panel and disposable form liner are removed from the mold and the liner is stripped from the panel to expose the objects embedded in the surface.

  • Patent number: 5582228
Abstract: An exothermic welding apparatus and method uses a crucible which can be used with a variety of exothermic weld metal material volumes to produce welds of different sizes while maintaining the desired diameter to height ratio for each volume of exothermic material. In one embodiment, the crucible includes a double or two stage cavity. The crucible includes a somewhat smaller lower stage which reduces the diameter for smaller volumes. This lower stage may have two disk seats to isolate the two stages from the tap hole. A disk seat is provided for a larger disk between the two stages. The crucible may include a volume of exothermic material in the smaller lower chamber, the larger upper chamber, or a combination of both. In a triple stage embodiment, a wider variety of exothermic material volumes or masses may be accommodated, all while maintaining the desired diameter to height ratio for each charge. Although the desired ratio is approximately one, the ratio range should be maintained from about 0.5 to about 1.
