Abstract: A method and machine for blow-moulding containers, the method involves selecting at least one characteristic point of the pressure in the container; for each selected point, defining a triggering criterion, and a pre-defined value thereof; during a production and data acquisition cycle, measuring the pressure in the container; for each selected point, defining a setpoint time for triggering, in the subsequent production cycle, the switch to the sub-phase after the characteristic point, such that: if the actual value of the criterion is ? to the pre-defined value, the setpoint time is the time at which the criterion has assumed a value equal to the predefined value, and if the actual value of the criterion is strictly higher than the pre-defined value, the setpoint time is after the actual time and is defined such that, at that time, the criterion assumes a value close to or coinciding with the pre-defined value.

Abstract: An automated irrigation gate system and method for regulating water levels in irrigation channels automates control of water through an irrigation channel based upon water levels, water flow rate, and ambient environmental conditions in the irrigation channel and an adjacent agricultural region. The system comprises at least one irrigation regulation device operationally attached to the irrigation channel. The irrigation regulation device regulates fluid flow through a channel opening in the irrigation channel through use of a gate. A fluid sensor monitors the level of fluid in the channel and an adjacent agricultural region. The fluid sensor also monitors the flow rate of the fluid flowing from the channel to the region. An environmental sensor monitors environmental conditions ambient to the region. A control portion comprises a processor that calculates the data to selectively displace the gate between an open position and a closed position relative to channel opening.

  • Patent number: 4220420
Abstract: A sealing arrangement primarily for a sluice gate which comprises a frame and a door movable between an open position and a closed position in which it closes an opening in the frame and sealing faces of the door and the frame are in sealing engagement to prevent the flow of liquid through the opening. The sealing arrangement comprises an intermediate wedge section strip interposed between two side strips having inclined planar faces in contact with the inclined planar side faces of the intermediate strip. The intermediate strip is either arranged to bear against the door or secured to the frame, and either one of the side strips is secured to the frame or both side strips are arranged to bear against the door respectively.

  • Patent number: 4205698
Abstract: An improved device for easy attachment to an external water spigot, which is designed to allow a slight dripping of water when ambient temperatures drop below a point at which there is a danger of water freeze, within house pipes or spigot. The present device has a simple moving valve, or water release shaft, which extends axially between a closed volume of a particular fluid, and a valve seat proximate the connection of the device to the spigot outlet. The improved temperature responsive valve taught herein ensures a most efficient opening function, during temperature drops below approximately 32.degree. F. by employing a closed fluid volume that is unaffected by the temperature of any released water. Further, the particular improvements involve a specially configured liquid chamber piston which ensures a large opening excursion, at desired temperature range.

  • Patent number: 4191257
Abstract: A sprinkler-sealing device has a control member which can be coupled to a manually used operating rod system to activate a sealing element intended to seal the nozzle opening of a sprinkler against water. A housing is provided comprising recesses and guides to take up and position the control member and the sealing element. A pair of stops is located at the front side of said housing for approximative alignment of the housing with the sprinkler to be sealed. Spring-loaded gripping members are connected moveably with the housing for releasable connection of the housing to said sprinkler.

  • Patent number: 4184662
Abstract: A fluidized solids control valve is disclosed that is particularly well adapted for use with a flow of coal or char that includes both large particles and fines. The particles may or may not be fluidized at various times during the operation. The valve includes a tubular body that terminates in a valve seat covered by a normally closed closure plate. The valve body at the seat and the closure plate is provided with aligned longitudinal slots that receive a pivotally supported key plate. The key plate is positionable by an operator in inserted, intermediate and retracted positions respecting the longitudinal slot in the valve body. The key plate normally closes the slot within the closure plate but is shaped and aligned obliquely to the longitudinal slot within the valve body to provide progressively increasing slot openings between the inserted and retracted positions.

  • Patent number: 4132385
Abstract: A cam-lock water gate designed to control water flow from a pond, lake, field, canal or the like. A primary body member is provided with an aperture therethrough and a short section of pipe stub integral with the main body member and opening into said aperture. An adjustable gate plate is mounted on said main body member and constrained between parallel guide channels to permit the gate to be adjusted for completely opening the aperture, partially opening the aperture, or completely closing the aperture. A regular duty embodiment employs a simple handle and rod control for both adjusting the gate plate as well as locking the cam-lock mechanism to positively retain the gate plate in the set position once adjusted. Another heavy duty embodiment employs heavier materials and heavier construction of the device and also incorporates a security lock bar that enables the gate plate to be locked to prevent unauthorized adjustment thereof.

  • Patent number: 4084784
Abstract: A gate assembly has a frame with a sill and an opening for the passage of a fluid, and a gate slide mounted on said frame for movement toward and away from said sill, between open and closed positions. The improvement, in combination therewith, comprises a first flange projecting from the frame on both sides of the opening, a resilient sealing member fixed to the first flange, and a second flange substantially identical to the first flange projecting from the back side of the gate slide. The first and second flanges are so positioned that, when the gate slide is in the closed position against the sill, the first and second flanges overlap and the resilient sealing member is compressed so as to produce a water tight seal.
