  • Publication number: 20040249349
Abstract: A connector for a medical device is disclosed. The connector includes a body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a passage extending therethrough between the proximal end and the distal end. The passage fluidly connects the proximal end and the distal end. The proximal end includes a connecting portion for releasably connecting the connector to an external device. The distal end is fluidly connected to a conduit. A cylinder is rotatably disposed in the passage between first position and a second position, wherein the cylinder includes an opening extending generally diametrically therethrough.

  • Patent number: 6827329
Abstract: A pipe coupling comprises a socket having a ball valve in which a through bore having one end that allows insertion of a plug is formed and a casing supporting the ball valve for rocking motion. The casing has a slot extending from its flank to the top. The slot has a flank opening and a top opening. The flank opening is wider than the top opening. A lock element is located for movement in the through bore of the ball valve. When the one end of the through bore of the ball valve is aligned with the flank opening, the lock element advances into the flank opening, thereby preventing the ball valve from rocking. When the lock element is pushed into the through bore of the ball valve by the plug, it is disengaged from the flank opening, whereupon the ball valve is allowed to rock.

  • Patent number: 6598620
Abstract: A faucet for pipe connection designed to be incorporated in a receiving structure such as a pipe or tank, includes a cylindrical body inside which is housed in concentric manner a sleeve defining the fluid communication channel and bearing at its outer end, articulated in rotation, a spherical closure element having a diametrical bore, a cylindrical ring, enclosing the sleeve and the spherical closure element, being housed so as to be capable of being driven in translation in the cylindrical body countering the effect of elastic return elements, the strokes in translation of the ring in the body driving in rotation the spherical closure element between an opening position wherein its bore is brought to coincide with the fluid communication channel and its closing position. The sleeve and the cylindrical ring of the faucet are mounted oscillating in the body of the faucet.

  • Patent number: 6533846
Abstract: A rotary module for implementing a high frequency pressure swing adsorption process includes a stator having a number of function compartments opening into the stator valve faces, a rotor rotatably coupled to the stator and including a number of apertures opening into the rotor valve faces, and a self-regulating clearance-type valve seal positioned between the valve faces of the stator and rotor so as to regulate the rate of gas flow between the stator and the rotor. Each valve seal includes a sealing face disposed adjacent a respective one of the rotor valve faces and is pivotable relative to the respective rotor valve face for varying the gas flow rate in accordance with the clearance distance between the sealing face and the respective rotor valve face. Each valve seal also includes a passage which communicates with one of the function compartments for varying the clearance distance in response to a pressure differential between the passage and an approaching aperture.

  • Publication number: 20030014011
Abstract: A pump system includes a pump control module and a cassette with a tube including an anti-siphon valve. A valve operates to control free flow situations, and the valve further has a bypass for priming of the system. The valve includes a bypass mechanism including at least one activation member, such as a button, which moves a movable member for disrupting the seal member of the anti-siphon valve. An alternative valve includes a separate bypass pathway around the anti-siphon valve. In this embodiment, operation of the bypass pathway does not disturb or disrupt the seal of the anti-siphon valve. Operation of the alternative bypass pathway is through a bypass mechanism including a button for movement or disruption of a bypass seal. A cap or other holder opens the bypass for each of the valves for gravity priming.

  • Patent number: 6422267
Abstract: A pipe coupling comprises a socket including a cylindrical main body having an axial bore for a fluid, an annular valve seat at the forward end, a ball type valve body rotatable relative to the valve seat and having a through hole and a casing fitted over the main body and rotatably retaining the ball valve in cooperation with the valve seat, and a plug inserted in the through hole. The casing has a long hole including a wider area and a narrower area. The ball valve communicates the through hole with the axial bore when the through hole is aligned with the narrower area and closes the axial bore when the trough hole is aligned with the wider area. The coupling comprises a guide for guiding the ball valve along the long hole from a position in which the through hole is aligned with the wider area.

  • Patent number: 6250603
Abstract: A service port connector for connecting to a service port of a pressurized system is described. The connector includes a valve opening member for opening a valve within the port. The position of the valve opening member within the connector is adjustable. The adjustable valve opening member allows the valve in the service port to be opened fully by the connector over a range of valve positions within the port. The connector can attach to a service device for servicing the pressurized system. The system can be an air conditioning or refrigeration system.
