  • Patent number: 11253140
Abstract: A pressure monitoring device is provided for use with a tool such as a medical endoscope. The device includes a housing which is fluidically coupled with an internal volume of the endoscope. A pump is used to change the pressure inside the device housing and endoscope, thereby establishing a pressure differential from the ambient environment. During an endoscopy procedure, the pressure inside the device housing is monitored, and a change in pressure exceeding a predefined limit causes an alarm signal indicating a leak has occurred in the endoscope. The device housing may be directly mounted to the endoscope, located remotely and connected with a coupling tube, or integrated with an accessory device connected to the endoscope. The pump may be integrated internally to the device housing, or it may be a separate external pump which is connected to the housing. The pressure differential may be positive or negative relative to ambient.

For each identified inter-pipeline data hazard the primary instruction and secondary instruction(s) thereof are identified as such and are linked by a counter which is used to track that inter-pipeline data hazard. Then when a primary instruction is output by the instruction decoder for execution the value of the counter associated therewith is adjusted (e.g. incremented) to indicate that there is hazard related to the primary instruction, and when primary instruction has been resolved by one of multiple parallel processing pipelines the value of the counter associated therewith is adjusted (e.g. decremented) to indicate that the hazard related to the primary instruction has been resolved.

  • Patent number: 6325092
Abstract: A freeze protection plug has latching balls engageable bayonet-fashion with grooves in a fitting. The balls are normally held in engagement with the grooves by a cam, but move inward to release the plug from the fitting when the cam is moved by a thermal actuator carried by the plug. The balls are retained in tapered openings in the wall of the plug to reduce jamming. Helical ramps in the grooves permit the use of a strong, reliable plug ejecting spring, and make manual insertion of the plug easy. Insertion is aided by the ribs of a plastic cap, which facilitate manual grasping and rotation of the plug. A paint shield ring prevents failures resulting from paint bridges adhering both to the plug and to the fitting. A unitary molded lanyard with two oval loops prevents loss of the plug. The seal on the plug is located on the liquid system side of the latching balls and isolates moving parts from the liquid system, and is of small diameter.

  • Patent number: 6279608
Abstract: The invention relates to a connection for connecting a measuring device (6) to a gas pipe, comprising: a connecting element (1) for arranging in the gas pipe which divides the gas pipe into a first and a second piece (2, 3); a connecting plug (4) which can be coupled to the connecting element and which is connected to the measuring device by means of a measuring line (5), wherein the connecting element comprises a valve which is actuable by the connecting plug and which normally mutually connects the first and the second piece of the gas pipe and which, when the connecting plug is coupled to the connecting element, connects the first piece of the gas pipe to the measuring line and closes the second piece of the gas pipe. As a result of these measures the valve is operated by the connecting plug, so that opening and closing of taps is no longer necessary. The operation of such a connection is therefor greatly simplified.

  • Patent number: 6199578
Abstract: A fluid container draining device (10) for use in draining a fluid container, such as an oil filter (12) in a controlled manner. It has a drill bit (14) with a sharpened tip (16) and exterior channels (20) on its shaft (18) extending from its tip (16) to a rear region (22). The drill bit (14) is immobilized in an axial bore (3) of a drill bit holder (24) which has a threaded front region (26) which is preferably frustum-shaped. Located rearwardly of the drill bit holder (24) is a valve (42) which when opened up permits fluid to be drained from the fluid container (12) through the channels (20) on the drill bit's shank (18), through the axial bore (30) in the drill bit holder (24), and out through the valve (42).

  • Patent number: 6196522
Abstract: Disclosed is a geometric lockout coupler assembly comprising a probe capable of reversibly moving between an open position and a closed position, the open position permitting fluid to pass through the probe; and a bung cup sized and configured to accept the probe. The probe further comprises a geometric configuration which cooperates with the complementarily shaped bung cup to allow fluid to flow through the probe while not permitting other probes to cooperate with the bung cup.
