Non-rotatable Conduit Coupling Patents (Class 251/151)
  • Patent number: 10465675
Abstract: A fluid valve is described to help reduce oil sump pressures of a variable speed compressor and a fixed speed compressor working in parallel in a HVAC system. The fluid valve can be a ball valve. Openings of a variable flow through structure of the ball can be configured to elongate along an equator the ball. When the ball rotates along a rotation axis, a size of a variable fluid path formed between the openings can be varied, resulting in a variable pressure drop across the ball. In operation, when the variable speed compressor is operated at different operation speeds, the ball can be rotated to different positions relative to the rotation axis, which may help reduce the pressure differential between the sumps of the variable speed compressor and the fixed speed compressor.

  • Patent number: 9903481
Abstract: A control valve having a closing element, mounted in a housing between an inlet side and an outlet side and rotatable about an axis between a first and second end positions, and a passage channel through the closing element perpendicularly with respect to the rotational axis. The channel has inlet and outlet openings and connects the inlet side to the outlet side in the first end position, disconnects the inlet side from the outlet side in the second end position, and permits an increasing throughflow of a medium during the transition from the second end position into the first end position with a characteristic curve. Low valve noise is achieved because of the shape, size and configuration of the inlet and outlet openings of the passage channel and the configuration of walls of the passage channel without steps and edges.

When actuated by a trigger, the valve vents a pressurized chamber in the spray gun, causing a piston to move to open air and fluid valves for initiate spraying. The pneumatic valve is in the form of a snap in module which is easily replaced without the need to remove the spray gun from the spray booth and without the need to replace a number of small parts. A small return spring and the pressurized air urge a valve poppet to a closed position. When the trigger is operated, the poppet is unseated to vent the pressurized chamber in the spray gun. The flow of air through the valve during painting prevents dirt and paint overspray from accumulating on the valve.

  • Patent number: 5687758
Abstract: A gas leak sensor shutoff valve includes a cylindrical body having a connector nipple secured in an inlet port and adapted to be secured to a gas supply pipe. An internal bore extends within the body and joins the inlet port in coaxial fashion. The internal end surface of the connector nipple includes a pair of diametrically opposed slots. A valve assembly is translatably disposed within a stepped valve chamber in the bore. The valve assembly includes a cylindrical sidewall closed at one end, and a pair of opposed holes extending through the sidewall. A gasket is secured to the closed end of the valve assembly, the periphery of the gasket extending outwardly from the valve assembly to impinge on an annular shoulder within the bore. A flow path extends from the connector nipple, through the slots in the internal end of the connector nipple, past the gap between the sealing gasket and the annular shoulder, and through the holes in the cylindrical sidewall to the distal end of the internal bore.

  • Patent number: 5467611
Abstract: A two plate, TXV block type of connector for an automotive air conditioning system evaporator improves the security and serviceability of the connection through the use of common bolts specially designed to cooperate with matching bolt passages through the TXV valve block. The evaporator side anchor plate threads to one end of the bolts first, and is pulled tight to one side of the block as enlarged flanges on the bolts are concurrently pulled tight against a recessed shoulder in the bolt passage. Matching conical shapes on the bolt flange and bolt passage shoulder, coupled with a radial clearance between the rest of the bolt and the bolt passage, self center the bolt and compensates for any initial misalignment. The bolts protruded enough to allow the second plate to be attached, or removed later, independently, with nuts that are threaded on from the same direction.

  • Patent number: 5039063
Abstract: A valve which minimizes fluid turbulence. The valve body has inlet and outlet ports at the end of threaded counterbores. Threaded collars mounted on the ends of the conduits are locked in place in the counterbores. A flange such as a snap ring on the conduits is engaged by a transverse wall on the collars to prevent movement of the conduits away from the valve body. A sliding valve element containing a flow opening permits fluid to flow through the valve when in open position. The interior of the valve body, the opening in the sliding valve member, the inlet and outlet ports and the inside diameter of the conduits are the same dimension with no gaps therebetween, creating a smooth bore.

Abstract: A two-stage flow controller for use in a vehicle heating circuit including a housing defining an inlet and an outlet and a flow control chamber disposed between the inlet and outlet. A spring biased flow controller is disposed for sliding movement within the chamber towards and away from a valve seat. The flow controller includes an annular segment defining a through aperture and a plurality of axially extending legs which support the segment for sliding movement within the chamber and in predetermined alignment with the valve seat. Projections are defined on a face of the annular segment. When the fluid flow exceeds a predetermined level, the projections initially engage a valve seat surface such that a variable orifice is formed by clearance regions between a confronting face of the element and the seat. The element deforms to diminish the clearance space between the face and the seat as a function of fluid flow rate.
