Abstract: A ball valve having an anti-rotational pressure plate that allows for a balanced pressure load on a valve member is provided. Additionally, the pressure plate can also fix the rotation of an adjacent flow disk, allowing for angular-orientation specific flow characterizing features to be used with the flow disk. By fixing the rotation of the flow disk, the ball valve can characterize flows using a greater variety of flow disk geometries, including angular-orientation dependent and angular-orientation independent flow disks. Further, the pressure plate could also be directly in the form of a flow disk that has anti-rotation features.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a bellow for use in a ball valve, the bellow comprising: a metallic seat at an end of the bellow for providing a contact surface with a ball of a ball valve; and a metallic body integral with the seat; wherein the metallic body has a longitudinally elastic property such that, when the bellow is in use in a ball valve and the bellow is arranged within the housing of the ball valve so that it is always under longitudinal compression, substantially only the compression in the bellow causes the seat to apply a sealing force against the ball of the ball valve that maintains a mechanical seal between the seat and the ball valve. Advantageously, embodiments allow a new design of ball valve that maintains a high standard of performance in subsea environments over long time periods.

  • Patent number: 9506787
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for measuring the differential pressure in a flowing fluid. The invention has a housing having two coaxial openings and an inner space. The inner space can be accessed by at least one of the openings. A measuring nozzle is arranged in the housing and has a flow channel with a cross-sectional constriction, and a differential pressure sensor comprising two measuring inlets for sensing a difference between pressures at the measuring inlets. A first one of the measuring inlets is in connection with the flow channel. A second one of the measuring inlets is in connection outside of the measuring nozzle with the inner space, and with a shut-off body. The shut-off body includes the measuring nozzle and is rotatably mounted in the housing about a rotation axis. The shut-off body, in a first rotational angle position, connects the flow channel to the two openings, and in a second rotational angle position blocks a flow between the two openings.

Abstract: The present invention provides a thin film spacer for maintaining a gap between a slit valve door and a sealing surface of a slit valve, such as a metallic insert. The film spacer can extend the life of a seal by limiting the line of sight exposure of the seal to corrosive gases within a wafer processing chamber, for example, and by controlling the compression percentage of the seal. The spacer may be located on an outer ambient side of the slit valve away from any corrosive gasses that may exist in the chamber.
