Separate Actuators Or Actuator Motion Patents (Class 251/187)
  • Patent number: 4187965
Abstract: A box discharger particularly suitable for ladles and the like, of the type comprising reloadable refractory plates and with a wedge locking system, which reduces the operation for positioning the tilting plate with respect to the stationary plate to the adjustment of a single element instead of several elements as required by the present art.

  • Patent number: 4160754
Abstract: This invention is directed to gels which are stable in storage, comprising a polymer matrix, a liquid dispersing agent embedded therein and optionally fillers or additives, characterized in that said polymer matrix is a polycondensation product of aldehydes and aminoplast-formers, at least 30% by weight of the aminoplast-formers having a molecular weight of between 200 and 10,000 and containing at least one ether, thioether, acetal, ester, urethane and/or carbonate group.

  • Patent number: 4157169
Abstract: A gate valve for use with vacuum equipment is provided in which a gate assembly is opened and closed by a fluid operated device, such as a pneumatic cylinder. The gate assembly is enclosed in a valve housing. The valve housing has aligned openings therein, and the gate assembly is moved reciprocally between the walls and parallel to the planes of the aligned openings therein, to an open position and to a closed position with respect to the openings. The gate assembly comprises two gates which are intercoupled by a bellows, the bellows defining a hermetically sealed pressure vessel with the gates. The gate assembly is coupled to a piston in the pneumatic cylinder by a piston rod. The gate assembly is moved to its closed position when pressurized fluid is introduced to one end of the pneumatic cylinder; and the gate assembly is moved to its open position when pressurized fluid is introduced to the other end of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4132385
Abstract: A cam-lock water gate designed to control water flow from a pond, lake, field, canal or the like. A primary body member is provided with an aperture therethrough and a short section of pipe stub integral with the main body member and opening into said aperture. An adjustable gate plate is mounted on said main body member and constrained between parallel guide channels to permit the gate to be adjusted for completely opening the aperture, partially opening the aperture, or completely closing the aperture. A regular duty embodiment employs a simple handle and rod control for both adjusting the gate plate as well as locking the cam-lock mechanism to positively retain the gate plate in the set position once adjusted. Another heavy duty embodiment employs heavier materials and heavier construction of the device and also incorporates a security lock bar that enables the gate plate to be locked to prevent unauthorized adjustment thereof.

  • Patent number: 4071221
Abstract: An absolutely tight valve is disclosed, especially suitable for nuclear installations where safety is of paramount importance. The valve provides a tight seal by means of a wheel having a set of projecting spokes, the wheel being placed over the shutter disk and integral therewith. Inclines integral with the valve body cooperate with the spoke ends in a wedging engagement, and a set of cup springs discharge the reactive forces and secure a tight seal.

  • Patent number: 4062515
Abstract: This invention relates to a double-disc gate valve which is compact, comparatively simple to construct, and capable of maintaining high closing pressures on the valve discs with low frictional forces. The valve casing includes axially aligned ports. Mounted in the casing is a sealed chamber which is pivotable transversely of the axis of the ports. The chamber contains the levers for moving the valve discs axially, and an actuator for the levers. When an external drive means pivots the chamber to a position where the discs are between the ports and axially aligned therewith, the actuator for the levers is energized to move the discs into sealing engagement with the ports.

  • Patent number: 4036260
Abstract: A valve comprising: a housing having an opening therethrough around which is provided a seat; a closure assembly for blocking flow through the opening and for sealing engagement with the seat; and an actuator assembly connected to the closure assembly for moving the closure assembly between a first position, out of the flow path of the opening, to a second position, in the flow path, and for expanding the closure assembly for sealing engagement with the seat.
