Spring Stop On Valve Stem Patents (Class 251/240)
  • Patent number: 10702727
Abstract: What is disclosed is an improved portable fire extinguisher adapted for persons with disabilities that for one reason or another are unable to effectively use two arms and hands to handle a standard portable fire extinguisher. The fire extinguisher is comprised of the standard main components for a portable fire extinguisher; that is, a gas cylinder, a discharge locking seal and pin, a discharge valve and actuating lever, and a discharge hose/nozzle; plus several hardware enhancements that make it easier for a user to don and use the improved fire extinguisher when the user can only use one hand and/or arm. Those hardware enhancements include an upper-handle actuator-extension member with a large vertical torso-engagement area, pivotable stabilizer arms, a cylinder-mounted retaining strap/collar, neck-strap-anchors and neck strap, a pivotable discharge hose/tube sleeve, and a pivotable stop member for preventing inadvertent actuation.

Abstract: A faucet includes a body having a main bore including an inlet and an outlet. A bonnet and spout are connected to the body. A stem includes a first portion inserted into the outlet of the main bore and a second portion that projects through the bonnet chamber to a distal end. The first portion of the stem comprises a flow path and the stem is slidably movable relative to the body and bonnet between a first position and a second position. A seal is carried by the stem and is engaged with the stem and sealing face when the stem is located in the first position. The seal is spaced from the sealing face when the said stem is moved to the second position. A handle is operably connected to the distal end of the second portion of the stem. A spring biases the stem to the first position.

  • Patent number: 6502768
Abstract: A water spraying gun includes a gun body having a mounting cavity with an upright mounting wall and a horizontal base wall. The mounting wall is formed with a pair of horizontal insert plates below amounting hole. A receiving space is formed between the insert plates and the base wall. A valve switch is mounted on the gun body within the mounting cavity. An operating lever has a mounting head portion with a vertical connecting rib extending between spaced-apart top and bottom walls, a pair of insert grooves on opposite sides of the connecting rib and between the top and bottom walls, and a forward mounting projection. The bottom wall has a valve engaging portion for engaging the valve switch. The mounting projection and the bottom wall extend respectively into the mounting hole and the receiving space to enable the insert plates to extend respectively into the insert grooves.

  • Patent number: 5630552
Abstract: A paint dosage device is particularly adapted to be mounted in close proximity to a spray gun (P) in a program controlled spray painting installation for dosed paint supply to the spray gun. The device includes at least two dosage cylinders (SA,SB), each having a regulating piston (PA,PB) connected to a piston departure position and displacement velocity regulator (RA,MA:RB,MB) for setting the paint filling amount of the associated cylinder by controlled adjustment of the departure position of the regulating piston in the cylinder, and for setting the dosage rate of the cylinder when supplying paint to the spray gun, by program controlling the displacement velocity of the regulating piston in the cylinder. A valve assembly (V1,V2,V3,V4) is arranged for connecting the cylinders (SA,SB) alternately to the spray gun (P) and putting the cylinder disconnected from the gun in connection with means for cleansing and paint filling apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5135198
Abstract: An externally adjustable restriction control assembly for a poppet valve. The restriction control assembly is actuated through rotation of the valve stem. Upon rotation of the valve stem, a restriction control disc, threadably mounted to the valve stem guide, is moved toward or away from a seat provided within the housing. Movement of the restriction control disc thereby adjusts the effective cross-sectional flow area through the valve.

  • Patent number: 4927114
Abstract: A tilt valve cartridge for a pneumatic mechanism has a cylindrical housing having two open ends, an annular valve seat secured in one open end, a valve member in tiltable contact with the annular seat and having a valve stem which extends through the valve seat and protrudes from the end of the cylinder, a spring to hold the valve member in a normally closed relationship with the valve seat, a sealing element secured to the cylindrical housing on its exterior surface so as to seal the interface between the cartridge and the mechanism, and retention feature to capture the valve member and valve biasing spring within the cylindrical cartridge. The modular cartridge feature simplifies installation and replacement of the valve in the inlet air passage of the pneumatic mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4903944
Abstract: A valve assembly for use with a fluid-driven tool having an elongated conduit with a bore communicating with the source of fluid, and an elongated valve member received in the bore. The valve assembly has a ball received in a chamber defining a valve seat, with the chamber communicating with the source in order to drive the ball against the seat. The valve assembly has a valve pin extending through the conduit in order to actuate and move the ball away from the valve seat to permit passage of the fluid through the valve member past the seat, and a paddle for actuating the valve pin in order to open the valve.

  • Patent number: 4552334
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a flow change-over valve for the blowing of fluids into a molten metal vessel, which includes a housing provided with at least three inlet ports for different fluids and an outlet port, a valve body with a main passage communicating selectively between one of the inlet ports and the outlet port and rotatably supported in the housing to perform the changing-over of inlet passages. Among these inlet ports, an inlet port for purging fluid is opened in the housing, and a shroud-like gap surrounding the valve body is formed between the inner periphery of the housing and the outer periphery of the valve body in such a manner that it communicates with the inlet port for the purging fluid disposed in the housing and is always to be communicated with an opening of an inlet port of the main passage during the changing-over through the rotation of the valve body.

  • Patent number: 4494729
Abstract: A valve operating mechanism for an internal combustion engine for an automobile in which friction is decreased without an increase in the mass to be moved by the valve closing spring. The valve operating mechanism has a roller arranged on an actuation spindle. The roller cooperates with a bearing surface on a component of the mechanism that is connected to the valve, at least during valve opening, so that deviations of the valve lift curve from the desired valve lift curve are eliminated. Connection between the actuation spindle, through the roller, and the valve is maintained only during the valve-open cycle.

  • Patent number: 4332285
Abstract: A tractor hydraulic power lift mechanism has a known manually adjustable flow control valve for regulating the rate of lowering an implement. However, when the valve is so adjusted that a heavy ground-working implement is lowered to ground level at a rate slow enough not to cause damage, the implement is then very slow to penetrate the ground to the desired working depth. A manually operable overriding mechanism preferably actuated by the main hand lever of the power lift mechanism is therefore provided to enable the valve to be moved temporarily into its fully open position and allowed to return to its adjusted position. The overriding mechanism is operated as the implement reaches ground level and released when it reaches its working depth.

  • Patent number: 4109678
Abstract: A fluid control valve assembly comprises a pair of identical valves mounted on a manifold with connections to the controlled actuator and to the high and low pressure sides of a fluid circuit incorporating a pump or other source of high-pressure fluid. Each valve includes a reciprocating tappet directly connected to a conical valve head and spring biased into a closed position of the valve, with a portion of the tappet protruding from the valve body. Superimposed on the two protruding tappets is a rocking beam which may be pivoted into contact with either tappet by means of a handwheel engaged in a bracket. A threaded shaft affixed to the handwheel passes through a nut pivotally secured to the rocking beam, so that rotation of the handwheel in either sense will result in the depression of one of the two valve tappets and the opening of the valve associated therewith.
