  • Patent number: 7121240
Abstract: The valve controller is driven by a motor. The valve controller has a control circuit and a driving circuit. The driving circuit drives a motor based on a control signal generated by the control circuit and a rotational position signal generated by a rotational position sensor. The driving circuit generates a rotation number signal representing an actual rotation number of the motor according to the rotational position signal, and transfers the rotation number signal to the control circuit.

  • Patent number: 7097148
Abstract: Apparatus for actuating a valve includes a support frame and at least one valve driving linkage arm, one end of which is rotatably connected to a valve stem of the valve and the other end of which is rotatably connected to a screw block. A motor connected to the frame is operatively connected to a motor driven shaft which is in threaded screw driving relationship with the screw block. The motor rotates the motor driven shaft which drives translational movement of the screw block which drives rotatable movement of the valve driving linkage arm which drives translational movement of the valve stem. The valve actuator may further include a sensory control element disposed in operative relationship with the valve stem, the sensory control element being adapted to provide control over the position of the valve stem by at least sensing the travel and/or position of the valve stem.

  • Patent number: 6955338
Abstract: An air passage opening/closing device includes a film member for opening and closing an opening of an air passage of a case. One end of the film member is fixed to a fixing portion on an outer periphery of the opening of the air passage, and the other end thereof is connected to a film winding shaft. A moving member movable by rotation of a drive shaft is provided on the opening, and the film winding shaft is moved while being rotated by the movement of the moving member, so that the film member at the other end side is wound around and unwound from the film winding shaft. Accordingly, when the air passage is opened and closed by the film member, sliding friction can be prevented from being generated between the film member and the case.

  • Patent number: 6805332
Abstract: A hand-operated hemispherical or spherical valve that provides an improved seal when dealing with fluids containing, or consisting entirely of, particulate matter is provided by the present invention. The valve utilizes an inflatable elastomeric valve seat that interacts with a primary closing member to permit or restrain the flow of fluids or particulate matter in a channel. The valve is opened and closed by turning a handwheel that is connected to a drive shaft. A sleeve having a cam is mounted on the drive shaft such that the cam engages a pressurized gas supply switch that inflates the inflatable elastomeric valve seat or seats when the hand wheel is turned to a closed position. Conversely, when the hand wheel is turned to an open position, a valve drive shaft, key and keyway function in conjunction with the drive shaft to turn the sleeve and disengage the cam such that the elastomeric valve seats are deflated prior to the primary closing member moving out of the closed position.

  • Patent number: 6766709
Abstract: A self-locking device for a gear set is configured to permit forward-driving an input in either of first and second rotational directions and for substantially preventing an output from being back-driven in either of the rotational directions. The device includes a gear disposed to rotate with a drive shaft. The device further includes first and second releasable couplings coupled to the gear and, respectively, to first and second ratchets. The first ratchet is disposed to prevent rotation in a first direction and to permit rotation in a second direction. The second ratchet is disposed to prevent rotation in the second direction and permit rotation in the first direction. The device may be useful, for example, in a valve gearbox. Abstract: The invention relates to a blowout valve assembly (blowout preventer (BOP)) (1) comprising a connecting channel (3), which can be closed by at least one closing device (2), whereby the closing device (2) can be transversally displaced with regard to the connecting channel (3) by means of a drive device (4). The aim of the invention is to further improve a blowout valve assembly of this type in order to enable this assembly to be precisely and easily actuated by remote control and while, at the same time, reliably preventing an unintentional opening of the closing device. To this end, the drive device (4) comprises at least two electric motors (5, 6), which can be operated individually or in a synchronized manner, and comprises a transmission device (7) having at least one irreversible transmission unit (8). In order to displace the closing device (2), said transmission unit (8) is drive-connected to both electric motors (5, 6).

  • Patent number: 6584867
Abstract: A gear for use as the pinion in a rack and pinion gear includes spur gear teeth that have an upper portion of the face cut in a worm cut so the gear is effective as a worm wheel for a worm gear while retaining involute curved faces so it is effective as the pinion for the rack. The rack, pinion, and worm driver are connected. When the worm gear connected to a shaft, power is transmitted from the shaft to the rack via the worm driver and pinion with all gears making line contact instead of point contact. This improvement turns one gear piece into two gears. The rack pinion can be geared to a worm gear while it is also matched up with a straight cut rack. In this way the gear translates force between the two different types of gears.

  • Patent number: 6471182
Abstract: An actuator for opening and closing a globe valve. The globe valve has a stem through which positioning of the globe valve is achieved. The globe valve is normally biased to open position. The actuator comprises an electric motor which drives a worm and pinion arrangement. The pinion drives an output gear which gear is movable between a base and a raised position within a frame and held in the base position by a compression spring with a similar compression rating to that of the required valve shutoff. The output gear drives a worm stem bearing against the stem of the globe valve to move it against its bias in one direction to close the globe valve. The output gear and worm stem are arranged so that, when the globe valve is fully closed, the worm stem is at its extreme position in that one direction and the output gear then begins to move within its frame from its base to its raised position.

  • Patent number: 6382247
Abstract: An intake relief valve comprises a bronze sectional gate positioned within the valve chamber adjacent to an outlet section of the valve. A quick attachment coupler of the valve connects the outlet section typically to a pumper fire truck, and a hose from a hydrant or draft source connects to an opposite inlet section of the valve. When the valve is closed and the hose is disconnected from the valve with the valve connected to the pumper fire truck, there is no water remaining in the valve chamber. Any residual water is released by a pit drainage outlet on the bottom wall of the valve. Not having water stored in the valve eliminates corrosion problems within the valve, when the valve is connected to the pumper fire truck.

  • Patent number: 6296009
Abstract: An arm-driven sleeve valve utilizes a single pin connection to transmit torque from a shaft of the sleeve valve to a pair of arm portions suspended therefrom for controlling the flow of fluid from the valve by axially moving a gate. The single pin connection is centrally positioned between the arm portions and ensures the each of the arm portions exerts an equal force on the gate, regardless of torsional deflection of the shaft. Use of the invention allows arm-driven sleeve valves to be driven asymmetrically from only one of opposite axial ends of the shaft without tending to bind the gate against the main body of the valve.

The flow control valve is constructed in a manner that a valve housing having a guide space and an inlet and an outlet is formed on the both sides of the valve housing, the inlet and the outlet being in communication with each other through the guide space. A spool is installed inside the guide space of the valve housing and up/down movably coupled therein so as to control the opening of the outlet.
