A resilient valve seal is formed of a material which deforms to a predetermined extent into sealing engagement against both sealing surfaces when compressed by the spring biasing force. Abstract: To provide a control valve for a variable displacement compressor, which is capable of stably operating in a pressure control area, and causing the compressor to quickly shift to operation with the minimum displacement. The control valve for a variable displacement compressor is capable of realizing stable pressure control, since a force applied to a valve element in a valve-closing direction increases when the valve element is in a pressure control area, and is balanced with a force applied to the valve element in a valve-opening direction by the pressure of refrigerant. Further, when the valve element moves past an end point of the pressure control area, the force applied to the valve element in the valve-closing direction decreases to thereby increase the valve-opening degree of a valve portion when the valve portion is fully open.

Abstract: A connector includes a housing disposed in conjunction with a pressurized vessel and sprung valve assembly and a stem to be inserted into the housing in two stages. The stem is retained in the housing in the first stage and the stem activates the valve to release the pressurized fluid in the second stage. The connector employs a two-stage retaining mechanism that includes a clip retained in a groove defined in an interior wall of the housing, a lower groove and an upper groove formed into an exterior of the stem. The clip is disposed in the lower groove and the housing groove in the first stage; and in the upper groove and the housing groove in the second stage. The stem defines a stem stop that contacts an assembly setting mechanism upon completion of the first stage. The assembly setting mechanism is removed to allow the second stage.

  • Patent number: 7222836
Abstract: The present invention is a poppet comprising a stem and a body, with the body having a plurality of channels extending in an longitudinal direction along the periphery of the body. The channels are gas flow conduits that react to the orientation of the poppet and force the poppet to re-align itself during operation with the centerline of the regulator chamber surrounding the poppet. The plurality of channels greatly reduces the contact between the periphery of the poppet and the regulator body. The present invention further includes a bore beginning at the non-stem end of the body and extending in the longitudinal direction within the body of the poppet. The bore can receive a spring for guiding the poppet. By positioning the spring within the poppet, the spring will have minimal contact with the regulator body. The bore avoids the spring from guiding the poppet by its end and adjusts the poppet's center of gravity toward where the poppet sits on the seat.
