  • Patent number: 6021801
Abstract: A fluid product valve in which an elastic member containing a normally closed slit is adapted to be selectively stretched by displacement of an actuating member, such as to stretch open the slit over the outlet end of a product discharge passage and allow fluid product to be dispensed therefrom, release of the actuating member allowing the elastic member, and hence the distorted slit, to return to its original configuration, thereby reclosing the outlet end of the passage.

  • Patent number: 5988593
Abstract: A water faucet and method therefor includes a spout for the water faucet which is used to control whether water is dispensed from the water faucet or not dispensed therefrom. The spout of the water faucet in its natural, untouched position functions to prevent water from flowing through the water faucet for external use. If the spout is raised or lowered, there is a flow of water through the water faucet because of a valve located within the spout and a base member holding the spout at a bottom portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 5785301
Abstract: A tilt action valve assembly is disclosed which has a cup for mounting to a container, the cup holding a grommet seal which surrounds a valve stem. The grommet seal has a lower portion which surrounds a lower portion of the stem and which provides a seal for engagement with a valve stem seat. An upper portion of the grommet seal is bowed and thin walled to absorb stem displacement above the cup, thus limiting seal displacement below the cup. A lip locks the upper portion to the stem to assure co-movement therewith. Utilizing the valve assembly provides for a maximized opening between the stem seat and seal to optimize the flow of fluid through the stem.

  • Patent number: 5743106
Abstract: A water dispenser of a refrigerator which comprises a reservoir for storing water, and which is positioned in a pocket, a holding member for supporting the pocket, a valve assembly for supporting the holding member, and an opening section for operating the valve assembly. The holding member is inserted into the holding member upside down. The valve assembly includes an outlet conduit screw-coupled to the reservoir, through which the water contained in the reservoir is exhausted. The outlet conduit is opened and closed by a packing member, and the packing member is moved upward and downward by the valve rod. The valve rod is moved upward and downward by an opening section having a pair of opening protrusions. Also, a stopper obstructs the lever so that the lever cannot pivot. The water dispenser is simple in structure, increases efficient space use of the refrigerating compartment door, is convenient to use, and can be cleanly maintained.

  • Patent number: 5478049
Abstract: A drain valve has a hollow body threaded to be screwed into a sump drain hole. A stem longer than the body is slidable and rotatable therein, and a washer encircles the stem adjacent the end facing into the sump. A longitudinal channel extends along the stem from its second end to an opening adjacent the washer, and a flange attaches the stem to a wall that covers a groove that extends longitudinally along the outer surface of the valve body, except for a portion offset laterally at the end of the groove closest to the threaded end of the body. A ball is captured between the groove and a recess in the surface of the wall facing the groove. The valve is normally held closed by a spring that forces the stem to slide longitudinally away from the interior of the sump to draw the washer against the body, thereby sealing the stem to the body. To open the valve, the stem is forced longitudinally along the body in opposition to the spring pressure to bring the channel opening within the sump.

  • Patent number: 5433410
Abstract: A drain valve for replacement of drain plugs or drain valves to facilitate the quick drainage of fluid from an equipment. The drain valve has a tubular housing assembly having a threaded section to be threaded into a threaded drain hole and a hexagonal nut section for assisting in mounting or removing the tubular housing assembly to threaded into or from the drain hole. A valve stem assembly has a valve stem which extends through the tubular housing assembly and has an actuator which an operator can push to open the drain valve. A compression spring disposed between the valve stem assembly and the tubular housing assembly provides a force on the actuator to force the drain valve into a closed position. Inlets in the valve stem permit fluid to flow through a drainage bore in the valve stem when the drain valve is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 5390899
Abstract: A valve for controlling fluid flow comprises a body having an inlet and an outlet, the body having an opening at one end; a controlling stem disposed axially of the body with one end portion extending through the body opening, the stem being pivotable about the body opening between a normal position when the valve is closed and a pivoted position when the valve is open; and a first elastic ring disposed within the body in sealing contact with the stem and disposed between with the inlet and the outlet, thereby to prevent fluid flow from the inlet to the outlet. The stem when in the pivoted position being adapted to deform the first elastic ring to create an opening between the stem and the first elastic ring, thereby to permit fluid to flow from the inlet through the opening to the outlet.

  • Patent number: 5370279
Abstract: A squeeze canteen for dispensing a potable liquid such as drinking water or fruit juice, the canteen including a container formed of resilient material for holding the liquid. The container is closed by a removable cap provided with a nozzle in the form of a normally upright, flexible tube mounted on a nipple and projecting from the cap, the inlet of the tube communicating with the container. When the canteen is in its drinking mode and the container is squeezed, the resultant internal pressure forces liquid from the container through the upright tube from which it is ejected. Associated with the cap is a crimping device constituted by a flexible lug one end of which is anchored on the cap. The lug being provided with an elongated slot through which the tube extends. The lug is manipulated by the user so that in the drinking mode it is folded over to permit the tube to assume its normal upright position.

  • Patent number: 5014887
Abstract: The valve includes a valve body formed onto a lid of a container, a closure member which is located in the valve body and a spiral spring which presses the closure member into the valve body so as to keep the valve closed. A first sealing section is formed on a section of the closure member and cooperates with a valve seat in the valve body. A second sealing section is formed on the valve body and cooperates with a part of a spray gun or similar device, into which the valve body section is inserted in order to prevent a leaking or fluid at that point. The valve does not need any sealing members made of elastomeric materials or rubber. In this way, deterioration of such sealing members, which is caused by the fluid and leads to loss of sealing capability, is avoided. Containers which are equipped with such valves can be stored in any arbitrary position.
