Line Pressure Connected Dashpot Or Choke Chamber Patents (Class 251/50)
  • Patent number: 7040594
Abstract: When a plunger moves toward a side of a valve seat, an end face of a sealing member on a space side is separated from a surface of a seal housing groove, whereby a portion between a communication passage formed on an inner peripheral side of the sealing member is communicated with the space. At this time, an end face of the sealing member on a side of a damper chamber contacts the surface of the seal housing groove. However, since a part of a communication groove is communicated with the communication passage, the damper chamber is communicated with the communication passage through the communication groove. Accordingly, since the damper chamber is communicated with the space through the communication passage, a damping effect is not exerted.

Abstract: A normally closed solenoid-operated valve is composed of a stationary element provided at one end of a stationary sleeve, a movable element slidably inserted in the sleeve to face the stationary element and provided at an external surface thereof with a communication groove which axially extends between the opposite ends thereof for permitting the flow of the operating fluid, and an electromagnetic coil for exciting the stationary element and the movable element. A damper chamber is defined by an annular shim provided between the lower end surface of the stationary element and the top surface of the movable element. When the damper chamber is closed by the lower end surface of the stationary element and the top surface of the movable element, a dent groove makes the damper chamber communicate with the communication groove.

  • Patent number: 6957660
Abstract: A pressure relief valve has a valve element that is biased by a spring into a closed position. A pressure being controlled is applied to the valve element to counter the force of the spring. When the pressure applied to the valve element exceeds the force of the spring the pressure relief opens, otherwise the valve closes. The pressure is applied through a damping orifice which controls the rate at which the applied pressure can increase and decrease thus delaying the response of the pressure relief valve to pressure changes in both directions. The relative size relationship between the inlet and outlet can be varied to define the pressure-flow characteristic of the pressure relief valve.

  • Patent number: 5894860
Abstract: A proportional pressure control solenoid valve includes a valve spool with dual feedback pins slidable relative to the spool within a common bore of the spool as the spool moves. The feedback pins have unequal cross sectional areas defining an operative feedback area and enabling minimization of the valve's size in a cost efficient manner. To control output pressure as a function of control current, an electro-magnetically generated force initiates modulation of the valve with assistance from a hydraulic feedback force and in opposition to the force of modulating spring.

  • Patent number: 5878965
Abstract: A control valve, preferably for use with a fuel injector, includes a valve body defining a solenoid cavity, an inlet passage, an outlet passage and a metering passage extending between the solenoid cavity and the outlet passage. A solenoid is mounted in the solenoid cavity. A valve member has one end attached to the solenoid and is positioned to reciprocate in the valve body between an open position in which the inlet passage is opened to the outlet passage and a closed position in which the inlet passage is closed to the outlet passage. The inlet passage is in fluid communication with the solenoid cavity via the metering passage when the valve member is in its open position. Appropriate sizing of the metering passage can prevent secondary injections by providing adequate pressure relief to the solenoid cavity while also substantially damping any pressure waves that may travel to the solenoid cavity through the metering passage.

  • Patent number: 5853028
Abstract: A variable force solenoid operated pressure control valve of the type having a force balanced spool moveably controlled energization of the solenoid for modulating the discharge pressure of the valve at its control outlet when the valve is supplied at its inlet with fluid of a supply pressure. The spool is moved to bleed fluid through an exhaust port to a sump for controlling the pressure supplied to the control outlet. The spool has a dashpot and piston in one end for providing hydraulic dampening of spool oscillations. In one embodiment a cylindrical piston is used and in an alternate arrangement a ball is employed in the dashpot.

  • Patent number: 5787926
Abstract: An overload preventive device is capable of preventing elevation of preload pressure due to sticking action or break-through load of a hydraulic cylinder of a press machine. A delay valve for opening when the internal pressure of the load detecting circuit is lower than the minimum pressure to be maintained continuously over a specified time is interposed between a hydraulic pump for supplying pressurized oil of a specified pressure to a load detecting circuit.

  • Patent number: 5725019
Abstract: The invention relates to a pressure retaining valve including a housing which has a housing inlet passage and a housing outlet passage which can be connected to the housing inlet passage, a valve piston which is movable in the housing and has a valve shaft, a valve seat associated with the valve piston, whereby the valve piston is biased by a spring in the direction towards the valve seat and, in the closed position, seals the connection between the housing inlet passage and the housing outlet passage, and an isolating membrane which is clamped in the housing and separates the spring and the valve piston.

  • Patent number: 5722454
Abstract: A fluid flow device has a body which includes an inlet and an outlet with a valve seat therebetween. A valve stem having a valve member thereon is mounted in the body, and the valve member is operably connected to a diaphragm which separates a region within the body into a pair of separate pressure chambers. A fluid passage is formed in the body communicating one pressure chamber with upstream pressure in the inlet, while the other pressure chamber communicates with downstream pressure in the outlet. A pressure differential between the chambers will normally hold the valve member in an open position against the action of a biasing means, until the pressure differential reaches a predetermined amount, whereby the valve member is slowly closed until fluid flow through the device is stopped.

  • Patent number: 5720315
Abstract: A regulator for maintaining a constant partial vacuum in a region, such as in a piece of process equipment or a fume hood. The regulator includes a path, through which fluid passes from the region to the vacuum source, and a movably mounted piston. The piston is disposed in the path so that the piston may constrict the path at a constriction point. Fluid in the path upstream of the constriction point exerts a pressure on the frontal face of the piston that tends widen the path at the constriction point. The piston is mounted so that the weight of the piston exerts a force on the piston in a direction that tends to widen the path at the constriction point. A force is exerted on the piston, preferably by a spring under compression, in a direction that tends to narrow the path at the constriction point. A buffering gas, introduced to the area between the piston's skirt and the piston mounting structure, may be used to keep noxious fumes from backing up into the environment and/or to provide an efficient bearing.

  • Patent number: 5649748
Abstract: [The aim is to] A solenoid valve which achieves a setting of a reduced flow area which is active after a closed position of the valve is disclosed. The solenoid valve has a seat valve in a valve chamber. A magnet armature for actuating the seat valve is provided on its end face remote from the seat valve with an axially expandable hollow part whose interior, acting as a control chamber, is connected to a valve sub chamber through a pressure fluid channel. A [D]dynamic pressure is generated in the partly open position of the seat valve in the valve subchamber and is capable through expansion of the hollow part in the control chamber of causing a force which acts on the magnet armature against the force of a resetting spring and on the basis of which the seat valve maintains its partly open position. The valve can be used in slip-controlled hydraulic brake systems of motor vehicles.
