Abstract: Seat valve, with a valve body having a plurality of inlet channels, with a plurality of closing elements arranged movably in a longitudinal direction L, each inlet channel being assigned a closing element for opening and closing the inlet channel, with a closing spring assigned to each closing element. The closing spring applies a prestressing force to the respective closing element to close the inlet channel. Each closing element assigned a braking device which is arranged separately from the closing element and which gradually brakes an opening movement of the closing element when the inlet channel is opened, independently of the closing spring. The braking device having a stop body with a stop surface against which the closing element can be brought to bear after an opening movement when the inlet channel is opened, the stop body being arranged movably and/or yieldingly in the opening direction of the closing element.

  • Patent number: 6991218
Abstract: A process control valve includes a valve stem, a valve plug. The valve stem and the valve plug are attached to one another by an arrangement that includes a locking pin that passes through substantially aligned bores in the valve stem and the valve plug. The locking pin is positively retained mechanically and prevented from extending outside of the bores in the valve stem and the valve plug.

  • Patent number: 6959718
Abstract: There is provided a valve enabling complete prevention of leakage and a backflow and having durability and less noise, and further there may be implemented a valve capable of predicting the tendency of occurrence of damage on the functions of the valve before the functions of the valve are actually damaged. In a valve having a valve chamber 5 formed between a fluid inlet 2 and a fluid outlet 3, a valve element 6 disposed in the valve chamber 5 is composed of an elastic member and an inelastic member.

Abstract: The invention relates to a valve, in particular for a fluid-regulated heating and/or cooling system of a motor vehicle, having a valve chamber (18, 218), with at least one inlet conduit (14, 214) and at least one outlet conduit (16, 216) branching off from it, and having a displacement rod (26, 226) movable by an actuator, and having at least one valve member (20, 220), which is located on the displacement rod (26, 226) and cooperates with at least one valve seat (24, 224) of the valve chamber (18, 218), and at least one damping element (20, 220) is provided, which slows down the speed of the displacement rod (26, 226) upon closure of the valve (10, 12). According to the invention, it is provided that the at least one damping element (20, 220) simultaneously acts as a valve member (20, 220).

  • Patent number: 6895996
Abstract: A fuel pressure regulator including a valve head having a centerline offset from the centerline of a corresponding fuel orifice. The valve head may be offset with respect to the valve seat and orifice, the orifice may be offset within the seat with respect to the head and diaphragm assembly, or the axes of the head and seat may be non-coaxially biased. Because the vector of the valve closing force does not align with the centerline of the valve head and diaphragm assembly, a resulting torque on the valve head keeps the head in a stable, pivoted position at all flow rates. The valve head always makes contact with the valve seat at a predetermined point during regulator operation, eliminating pressure instabilities and noise experienced in prior art pressure regulators.

Abstract: An electromagnetic valve device for reducing noise resulting from an internal collision of a movable core against a guide member has a fixed core, a cylindrical movable core, a valve member, for reciprocating in an axial direction of the movable core in a cooperative manner with the movable core to open and close fluid paths, coil sections for forming a magnetic field by electrical conduction thereof to attract the movable core to the fixed core so as to move the movable core in the axial direction, and a guide member having a guide wall for guiding the movable core in the axial direction from inside of the movable core in its radial direction. A space is formed inside the guide wall in its radial direction.

  • Patent number: 6668858
Abstract: A check valve is provided having a valve body and a sealing assembly within the valve body. The sealing assembly is biased, via a biasing force, in a seated position against a valve seat adjacent or surrounding an inlet port of the valve body. The sealing assembly includes an armature that has a proximal end and a distal end, and a sealing member that is pivotally attached to the distal end of the armature at a seal pivot joint. The proximal end of the armature is pivotally attached to the inner wall surface of the valve body at a wall pivot joint. Thus, the armature is a dual-hinged armature, providing at least two degrees of freedom, one translational and one rotational, for the sealing member to be properly seated against the valve seat. Effective sealing is thus achieved despite potentially imperfect alignment between the valve seat and the sealing assembly, and also despite a non-perfectly smooth valve seat.

  • Patent number: 6609696
Abstract: A valve that has at least one internal port on a valve core and at least one an internal slot in a valve body. The valve core is biased into a position wherein the port of the valve core is aligned with a sealing surface of the valve body thereby prohibiting fluid flow through the valve. The valve core is slidable such that the port of the valve core becomes aligned with the internal slot of the valve body thereby allowing fluid flow through the valve. Another valve includes a self-aligning valve seat carrier which is pivotably engaged with a valve core member. The self-aligning valve seat carrier engages a sealing surface in a valve body to prohibit fluid flow through the valve, but the valve core is slidable such that the self-aligning valve seat carrier disengages from the sealing surface in order to allow fluid flow through the valve.

Abstract: A high-pressure primary fluid control valve and a multi-pressure selector fluid control valve are disclosed for operating a fluid-actuated device. Preferably a spherical ball-poppet and frusto-conical valve seat adapted for substantially line-contact therebetween are provided with an upstream flow area adjacent the line-contact in order to substantially minimize sonic flow damage to the actual sealing surface of the valve seat by shifting it away from such line-contact seating. Preferably, the ball-poppet is movable within a poppet guide that is allowed to float radially in order to allow the ball-poppet to be substantially self-centering with respect to the valve seat. In addition, cross-over leakage is preferably negated by closing an exhaust ball-poppet just prior to opening a supply ball-poppet. These principles and features are equally applicable to either or both of the primary or the multi-pressure selector fluid control valves.
