Abstract: A protectant and sealant solution and method of use thereof, configured to protect wood from premature decay when disposed in contact with the earth. The solution is composed of processed hemp oil which is mixed with bio-diesel and other oils to form the protectant solution. The wood is then impregnated with the solution via pressure treatment within a retort cylinder. The solution is configured to protect utility poles and other wooden construction members which are known for prolonged contact with soil. The solution is designed as a safe replacement for pentachlorophenol solutions which have been found to be harmful to the soil and water table.

Abstract: A non-aqueous wellbore servicing fluid comprising a fluid loss additive wherein the fluid loss additive comprises the reaction product of (i) a functional polymer and (ii) an oligomerized fatty acid. A method of conducting an oil-field operation comprising placing a non-aqueous wellbore servicing fluid downhole wherein the non-aqueous wellbore servicing fluid comprises a fluid loss additive comprising the reaction product of (i) a functional polymer and (ii) an oligomerized fatty acid.
Abstract: Mixtures of additives in granular form comprising: one or more stabilizers for organic polymers; one or more organic or inorganic pigments; and/or one or more dyes; obtained by extrusion at a temperature capable of enabling the partial or total melting of the lowest-melting component. The above mixtures can be used in the stabilization and dyeing of organic polymers.
Abstract: A method is described for preparing liquid concentrates of additives for incorporation in polymers, particularly polymers prepared in solution or slurry phase polymerization media. Additive concentrates according to the invention are characterized by a finer dispersion than would result from the direct addition of particulate or granular additives to the same liquid solvent.

Abstract: In this application is disclosed a resin additive composition which can by produced by precipitating a calix(n+m+l)arene represented by the following general formula (2) and in a dissolved state together with or at the same time at least one functional ingredient selected from the group consisting of various water-soluble or hydrophilic resin flam-retardants, resin thermal stabilizers and resin curing agents, and in a dissolved or suspended state. This resin additive composition has a good affinity for organic polymers such as polyolefin and the like, which allows the functional ingredient(s) to be dispersed homogeneously in the resin. Therefore are provided high-performance resin compositions comprising various functional ingredient(s).
Abstract: Polymer derivatives based upon polyalkyleneimine backbones having from about 20% to about 60% of their reactive amino functionalities substituted by C14-20 carboxylic acids, are disclosed. Fiber lubricants and/or sizing compositions comprising such polymer derivatives are also disclosed. The disclosed fiber lubricants exhibit excellent affinity for fiberglass fibers and have excellent hydrophobicity, while also providing excellent lubrication. Methods for preparing said derivatives are also disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for treating fibers using the polymer derivatives.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new class of blowing inhibitors and a method for discovering such inhibitors with determinable inhibition activities. The new class of blowing inhibitors are organo-silanes that may be directly adsorbed onto active catalytic sites of blowing catalysts and that can inhibit the thermo-catalytic efficiency of such catalysts.

Abstract: Polymer derivatives based upon polyalkyleneimine backbones having a color stabilizing-effective amount of their reactive amino functionalities substituted by either a carboxylic acid or an amino-protecting group such as urea, are disclosed. Methods for preparing said derivatives are also disclosed. Fiber lubricant compositions comprising said polymer derivatives, and the resistance to yellowing associated with such lubricants are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for treating fibers using the polymer derivatives.
