The lever arm may be directly, or indirectly, engaged with a rotatable crossbar which may have a plurality of protrusions for engaging corresponding tabs of a runner. To use the tool, a user may align the protrusions of the rotatable crossbar with the corresponding tabs of a runner engaged within a leg of an agricultural bin, then the user may press down on the lever arm, causing the crossbar to rotate and engage the tabs. As the user continues to press down on the lever arm, the tabs eventually disengage from corresponding openings in the leg of the agricultural bin, allowing the user to remove the runner from the bin.

A lifting plate 125 is provided to fit under a landing jack 165 attached to a trailer 160 to allow a user to move landing jack 165 without having to bend over or lie on the ground. Lifting plate 125 is pivotally mounted so the as the angle changes with respect to lifting arm 120, lifting plate 125 maintains level contact with landing jack 165. Additionally, lifting plate 125 telescopically fits within lifting arm 120 in order to allow a user to adjust the length.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods allow the wheels of a camera dolly to be quickly and easily changed by a single person. A dolly jack may have a leg attached to a foot and pivotable relative to the foot about a first axis. A jack rod is attached to the leg spaced apart from the first axis. An arm may be pivotally attached to the leg as desired, to provide greater mechanical advantage in lifting the camera dolly. Dolly wheels may be changed by inserting a jack rod into a receptacle on one side of the camera dolly, with the foot of the jack on the ground and with the jack leg substantially in a non-vertical position. The jack leg rotated into a second position wherein the jack leg is substantially vertical, with the dolly rolling slightly in the direction of the rotation. This lifts the side of the dolly sufficiently so that the front and back wheels, or wheel pairs, on the one side of the dolly are lifted off of the ground, allowing the wheels to be changed.

The tool comprises two leg members, each pivotally connected at their upper ends to the opposite ends of a crossmember. Attached at approximately the mid-point of each leg member is a horizontally aligned chain designed to limit the distance the leg members can be spread apart during operation. A second chain is attached at one end to approximately the mid-point of the cross-member. During operation, the second chain hangs vertically from the crossmember. A hook is attached to the opposite end of the hook which either directly engages the edge of the cover or a lifting element attached to the cover. The chain is adjustable in length so that the leg members may be spread apart on opposite sides of the cover. During use, the second chain is attached to the cover and the tool is moved to one side which lifts and moves the cover to the desired position. The same movement is used to install the cover.

    Abstract: A construction tool for moving, positioning and holding a workpiece, such as a pipe or beam, or the like, relative to a selected work area, which may be the earth's surface, a pipe, a beam or other type of support. The tool includes a base, an upright support, a swivel, a pivoted lever and anchor means for securing the lever in a predetermined attitude relative to the upright support. The base in a selected form is readily interchanged with the upright support by a telescoping joint secured by a pin. This pin joint allows several extended positions of the upright support relative to the base for easy height adjustment. A universal swivel joint atop the upright support mounts the pivoted lever. The length of the lever at its mounting to the swivel head may be readily adjusted between selected lengths. One end of the lever is secured to the workpiece, e.g., by a chain, and the other end of the lever is secured by an anchor chain to the base to maintain it in a desired attitude.

    Abstract: Apparatus for splitting logs including a base, a platform for supporting on end a log to be split, and a post mounted on the base. An axe head with a downwardly directed cutting edge is slideably received on the post which, in turn, is provided with a plurality of recesses facing in the direction of the cutting edge. A link extends between a handle and the axe head and is pivotally connected at its ends to the handle and the axe head. A fulcrum pin at one end of the handle is receivable in one of the recesses when the cutting edge is rested upon an upper end of the log. When a transverse force is applied to the end of the handle distant from the fulcrum pin, the handle is caused to rotate about the fulcrum pin from a raised position toward a lowered position forcing the cutting edge to enter the upper end of the log. With continued rotation of the handle, the cutting edge advances into the log toward its lower end at an ever faster rate, but with ever decreasing force.

    Abstract: A portable sawmill is provided in which a rigid straight channel support is placed on a floor or on the ground with one end slightly elevated. A pair of longitudinally spaced log supports are mounted in the channel piece at a distance corresponding to the length of a log to be placed thereon. A carriage with rollers is mounted to ride along the upturned edges of the channel piece and is adapted to roll by gravity from the elevated end of the channel piece to the lower end. The carriage includes a bandsaw driven by a low horse power motor and is equipped with a release mechanism for automatically disengaging the drive between the motor and the saw at the end of a cutting stroke. A jacking mechanism and adjustable shelves on the log supports are included for raising the log to a new height after each cut.

    Abstract: A base and an elongated support lever having one end thereof pivotally supported relative to the base for swinging of the support lever in an upstanding plane about an axis elevated relative to the base and for movement of the other free end of the support lever toward and away from a predetermined location on the base. An upright is carried by the base and defines a series of vertically spaced notches thereon and a downwardly facing wedge structure is carried by the free end of the support lever. The base defines support means for supporting an upstanding log section therefrom with the lower end of the log section disposed in the aforementioned predetermined location and an elongated actuating lever having anchor structure on one end is provided and the anchor structure is selectively releasably pivotally receivable in the notches and the actuating lever defines a handle on its end remote from the anchor structure.
