  • Patent number: 6135419
Abstract: A column repair jack, for repairing a column comprises a base, a lift member, an extending member, a releasable engaging member, a lift actuating member and a positioning member. The lift member is associated with the base member. The extending member includes a first end and a second end. The first end is associated with the lift member. The releasably engaging member, which is associated with the second end of the extending member, is capable of releasably engaging the column to be repaired. The positioning member positions at least a portion of the extending member at an angle relative to the column to be repaired. After attachment to a column, the lift actuating member facilitates the transfer of at least a portion of the load from the column to the column repair jack, to, in turn, facilitate repair of the column. The invention further comprises a method for attaching a column repair jack to a column to be repaired, for the repair of same.

  • Patent number: 6000681
Abstract: A saddle structure for a jack device is provided with a rotatable saddle mounted to the fixed saddle of an extension member of a jack device. The rotatable saddle is retained, at least partially, within the fixed saddle for structural reinforcement. The Rotatable saddle provides an interface between the extension member of the jack device and the object to be lifted. The rotatable saddle is freely rotatable about a central axis of the extension member to allow the jack device to be independently oriented with respect to the object to be lifted. The fixed saddle structurally supports the rotatable saddle and is rigidly fixed to the extension member. Such an arrangement provides an adjustable interface between the jack device and the object to be lifted while maintaining the structural integrity of the interface.

  • Patent number: 5251875
Abstract: A first embodiment of a lifting device is provided for facilitating installation and removal of a plurality of vehicle parts base and a boom pivotally comprises a castered mounted to the base through a horizontal axis of rotation by a mast. A hydraulic jack mounted to a between the base and the boom effects pivotal movement of the boom between upper and lower positions. A receiver is rotatably mounted on a horizontal axis of rotation to a rear portion of the boom. A tie rod pivotably mounted to and between the mast and the receiver guides the receiver through rotational movement and maintains the same in a horizontal condition as the boom moves between the upper and lower positions. The receiver is adapted to interchangeably mount on a vertical axis of rotation one of a plurality of vehicle part attachments, such as a cradle attachment, a flywheel attachment or a clutch attachment adjustably mounting through vertical and horizontal axes of rotation a starter, a flywheel or a clutch, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5224687
Abstract: A device for the extraction of fence posts having a T-shaped cross-section. The device is arranged to engage the fence post in a frictional binding action on the post when tilted by the upward application of force to one end of the device. The upward application of force is derived through cooperation with a jack, whereby the tilting of the device secures the device in position with the fence post and transfers the upward force from the jack through the device to the fence post. The tilting of the device also secures the jack to the device, thereby ensuring cooperation between the jack, the fence post, and the device throughout the full length of the lifting stroke.

  • Patent number: 5209458
Abstract: The present invention discloses a flexible leveling device for the leveling of various vehicles, particularly recreational vehicles. In the preferred embodiment, the flexible leveling device of the invention generally comprises an elongate member of flexible material, with first and second ends, having a series of separated elements, preferably blocks, of steadily increasing height interconnected thereto. Each of the separated elements is interconnected to the flexible member, starting at the first end thereof with the shortest element, progressing with successively longer elements to form a steady incline, and extending through the length of such member to the second end thereof. Each separated element is disposed on the flexible member so as to provide a uniform space between adjacent elements, allowing the device to be formed into a curved configuration for use, or to be folded over or rolled to facilitate storage.
