Abstract: A membrane pulling device includes an elongate frame and a lever coupled with the elongate frame at a fixed position joint. The fixed position joint is positioned within a middle section of the elongate frame. A plurality of step plates are attached to the elongate frame, including a back step plate and one or more front step plates. A forward fairlead is coupled with the elongate frame and includes two pulley wheels. Side arms may pivot out from the elongate frame to assist in use of the membrane pulling device when pulling a membrane at an angle to the orientation of the device, such as adjacent to a parapet wall.
Abstract: A tool and method for removing a film from a surface is provided, wherein the tool can include a frame, a handle operably coupled to the frame, a number of wheels operably coupled to the frame, a cylinder rotatably coupled to the frame, an arm rotatably coupled to the frame, and a number of separating devices operably coupled to the arm. In some embodiments, the wheels can rotate about one or more axes parallel to the surface. The cylinder, which collects the removed film, rotates about an axis that can also be parallel to the surface. The arm can rotate about an axis that can also be parallel to the surface.

Abstract: A membrane puller for pulling a sheet of membrane material over an underlying surface has a frame with a lever arm pivotally attached to the frame for pivotal movement between a first position and a second position. A foot actuatable clamp assembly is carried by the frame for relative movement with the frame in response to pivotal movement of the lever arm. A cable has one end adapted for operable attachment to the lever assembly and another end adapted for operable attachment to the clamp assembly. The clamp assembly moves conjointly with the body via the cable and in response to pivotal movement of the lever arm toward its second position to pull the membrane material toward the front of the membrane puller.
Abstract: A roofing membrane puller for tautly pulling a water-proof membrane over a flat roof, even to the edges thereof, includes a frame, at least one anchor which maintains the frame in a selected position on the flat roof, a locking gripper having releasably lockable jaws for gripping the membrane, a leveraged hand drive which is mounted to the frame and includes a lever which is pivotally mounted to the frame and can be grasped by an operator's hand to move the lever and apply a force to the lever in driving direction, and a pulley-cable system for transmitting a pulling force from the leveraged hand drive to the locking gripper to pull the membrane. A cable extends from the leveraged hand drive through at least one pulley where the cable's direction can be changed so that the cable and locking gripper can pull the membrane in a direction which is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the puller frame.
Abstract: An assembly designed to strip carpet or like floor covering from the surface of a floor to which it is directly adhered as by adhesive or the like wherein a gripping jaw or like gripping structure is affixed to a carpet portion to be stripped and interconnected to an anchored driving assembly in the form of a winch and interconnecting cable. Activation of the winch causes a pulling force exerted on the gripping structure and steadily pulls and thereby strips the carpet from the surface to which it was adhered. One or more supplementary anchor assemblies may be secured between the driving assembly and the gripping structure so as to vary and determine the direction of pull of the gripping structure and carpet portion secured thereto relative to the driving assembly.
