Rotatable Pulley Wheel Element Patents (Class 254/226)
  • Patent number: 11234784
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a shaft with a proximal end and a distal end, a movable component coupled at the distal end of the shaft, a force transmission mechanism coupled at the proximal end of the shaft, and an actuation element with a first end coupled to the force transmission mechanism and a second end coupled to the movable component. The actuation element being configured to transmit an actuation force from the force transmission mechanism to the movable component. A coil spring is coupled to the actuation element between the first and second ends. First and second ends of the coil spring are coupled to longitudinally separated locations on the actuation element. The coil spring is configured to passively expand and contract in response to tension changes in the actuation element. A distance between the longitudinally separated locations changes as the coil spring passively expands and contracts.

  • Patent number: 7984893
Abstract: A process can include the step of forming a removable support having a complementary contour to a machined surface of a block of material to be processed in order to support the machined surface from an opposite planar surface formed on the removable support during machining of the opposite side of the block of material. The process can include the steps of processing a block of material on a machine to form one surface; inserting a support having a complementary contour to support the one surface and an opposite planar surface; rotating the block of material onto the opposite planar surface of the support to machine the opposite side of the block of material; releasing the support along a parting line defined by the complementary contour; and reusing the support for the next block of material having the same contour configuration.

  • Publication number: 20080087871
Abstract: A compact cable tension tender device includes a movable member having a first stop and a second stop spaced apart from the first stop. A first attachment may be provided on the moveable member for cable that extends in a first direction. The first attachment may engage the first stop to limit the movement of the cable in the first direction relative to the movable member. A second attachment may be provided on the moveable member for cable that extends in a second direction. The second attachment may engage the second stop to limit the movement of the cable in the second direction relative to the movable member. A resilient coupler coupled to the first attachment and to the second attachment may urge the first attachment to move in the second direction and the second attachment to move in the first direction relative to each other to maintain cable tension.

  • Patent number: 7007927
Abstract: An apparatus for the controlled lowering to the ground of a cut portion of a tree includes a rope and an anchor having an arrangement of guiding protuberances., each guiding protuberance including a bearing surface frictionally engaging and redirecting the rope without the rope fully encompassing any portion of the anchor including any of the guiding protuberances. Three guiding protuberances define a triangular arrangement. Of the three, a first guiding protuberance is disposed in proximity to an intermediate guiding protuberance defining a segment of a rope path therebetween, and a second guiding protuberance is disposed in proximity to the intermediate guiding protuberance defining another segment of the rope path therebetween without the segments crossing. A mounting member is attachable to the tree and a guiding member is pivotally connected to the mounting member along a pivot axis and includes an arrangement of guiding protuberances generally extending to each side thereof.

  • Patent number: 5904341
Abstract: A strap tensioning device comprises a frame (1) with a rotatable reel (3) and a turnable command member (2). A ratchet wheel (43) is co-rotatively connected with the reel, the wheel cooperating with two spring-loaded latch elements (14, 29). When the command member (2) is turned out from the frame (1), the reel (3) is carried with it. At an opposed return movement, the reel (3) is blocked. A rotatable support roller (4) is arranged between the two side pieces (5, 5') of the frame (1). The reel (3) comprises a shaft (16) whose opposed ends are arranged in elongated holes (9). In this way, the reel (3) may be distanced from the support roller (4), whereby the device may be used for both strap tensioning and strap feeding.

  • Patent number: 4204758
Abstract: A closure mechanism, such as a shutter in a camera, includes a closure member having an arcuate portion arranged to roll on a support member to cause a part of the closure member to move across an aperture thereby providing a movable barrier permitting selective communication of the aperture with spaces on opposite sides of the closure member. When used in a camera, the closure member is accommodated in an enclosure of which one wall includes the aperture, which may be a fibre optic plate. The closure member is movable between two extreme positions; in one position a mirror carried by the closure member optically couples the aperture with a viewing system and in the other position it blocks the viewing system while a film is located adjacent the aperture by a mechanism actuated in synchronism with the closure member.
