  • Patent number: 7400530
Abstract: A semiconductor memory is achieved which allows a reduction in the area of a memory array block without reducing the gate widths of floating gates. A plurality of select gates extend in straight lines in the X direction. Between the upper- and lower-side select gates, two rows' worth of floating gates are arranged. The plurality of floating gates are placed in a staggered arrangement (in other words, in a zigzag pattern). That is, looking at one floating gate in a specific column and another floating gate in a column adjacent to that specific column, those floating gates deviate from each other in the Y direction.

  • Patent number: 4555092
Abstract: For use in service and maintenance of oil and gas (or water) wells, a system for operating a truck mounted direct drive dual drum winch. Each drum is independently driven by a direct coupled radial piston hydraulic motor. The system includes an improved source of hydraulic power connected to the drum motors through improved piping and valving for selection of drum functions (raise or hoist, lower or drop, or free fall). The system also includes an improved control panel, movable and positionable by the operator for precise and safe control of selected drum functions using pneumatic power.

  • Patent number: 4465261
Abstract: An apparatus for pulling an electric cable or wire between two locations such as along the length of a pipeline is described including an engine mounted in the box of a truck and having a pinch wheel operatively connected thereto. A torque balanced pulling rope is extended around the pinch wheel and passes through spaced-apart sheaves mounted on the pipeline. The free end of the rope is connected to the electric cable which is to be pulled along the length of the pipeline. The rope passes from the pinch wheel to an automatic rope tender mounted on a trailer positioned rearwardly of the truck. The automatic rope tender is operated at a slightly greater grade than the sheave wheel and deposits or drops the rope into a storage container. The automatic rope tender includes means for lifting the storage container from the ground to enable the container to be moved from one location to another.

  • Patent number: 4447044
Abstract: A control system for one or more hydraulically driven crane winch drums each having a hydraulically actuated clutch and a brake. Included is a negative braking mechanism having a brake cylinder of the single-acting, spring-return type for normally holding the brake applied by the force of the spring and releasing the brake on fluid pressure actuation. A mode selector valve selectively delivers hydraulic fluid under pressure from two separate sources to the clutch and the brake cylinder in order to condition the winch for a selected one of winching, brake-locking, and free-fall modes. The mode selector valve causes the negative braking mechanism to release the brake in the free-fall mode, so that a positive braking mechanism is also provided to permit the operator to arrest the free fall of the load, or the free running-out of the cable, in an exact position desired.

  • Patent number: 4345742
Abstract: A hydraulic yarding system in which the haulback and main drum are coupled to a primary drive motor and provided with a hydraulic interlock motor coupled to a planetary set in the haulback drive in an open loop hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic fluid from the interlock motor can be diverted to the hydraulic circuit for the primary drive motor through a pressure sequence valve and a directional valve. In this manner, regenerative driving of the interlock motor by the load pumps fluid from the interlock circuit selectively in the desired direction to the primary drive motor and supplements the power available to the primary drive motor. A preferred embodiment utilizes two pressure sequence valves in circuits to either the in-haul or out-haul fluid flow directions for the primary drive motor so that a diversion of fluid from the interlock circuit can occur at a lower pressure valve during out-haul.

  • Patent number: 4257578
Abstract: An oil well service rig having three reels, two of the reels actuated by a hydraulic pump through a gear box which provides for selective engagement or disengagement and a two speed gear ratio change for either reel, the hydraulic pump being driven by a gasoline engine. An independent hydraulically operated brake system is utilized on the reels wherein one side of each reel is provided with a greater diameter than the other side, the larger side having a brake caliper pad assembly in engagement therewith. A smaller reel, also controlled by the hydraulic motor, controls the inclination and disposition of a mast having a double sheave assembly at its top receiving cables from each main reel for raising and lowering tools into the oil well shaft.

  • Patent number: 4240613
Abstract: A winch mechanism of the deep lift type comprises a variable displacement hydraulic pump/motor which is adjusted so as to support from a ship or the like via a rope haulage mechanism a submerged load under the influence of pressurized hydraulic fluid which is stored at a substantially constant pressure in a high pressure accumulator and in a low pressure accumulator. As the ship rises and falls, forces on the submerged load are sufficient to maintain the load substantially stationary with hydraulic fluid being passed via the pump/motor between the two accumulators. Lifting is accomplished by a pump which circulates hydraulic fluid through the pump/motor.

  • Patent number: 4231698
Abstract: The invention relates to cranes or the like in which two hoist lines control a clamshell bucket. If the winch for one line is operated to draw in this line, it closes the clamshell bucket and hoists it. During this hoisting, the winch for the other line must also be operated to pull in the slack. If this other line is reeled in excessively, it will dump the bucket. A system is provided for automatic control of the winch being used for slack-takeup, thus avoiding the need for great care and delicate finesse by an experienced hand on a second control lever. The system puts the slack-takeup winch in hydraulic series or tandem with the discharge from the hoisting winch, but limits the hydraulic pressure supplied to the slack-takeup winch so that it is barely enough to accomplish the takeup of its line, and cannot cause dumping.
