Movement Engages Or Disengages Drum From Drive Patents (Class 254/330)
  • Patent number: 8814144
Abstract: An air register assembly is adapted to be inserted into a forced air duct, and configured to streamline then mix airflow in the duct. The assembly includes a face-plate having a vent, a frame attached to the face-plate and arranged to extend into the duct. The assembly additionally includes a plurality of mounts arranged on the frame, and a first and second mesh panels configured to be selectively inserted into, and removed from the frame. When the first and second mesh panels are inserted into the frame, the panels are supported by the mounts, the first panel is disposed between the face-plate and the second panel, and each of the first and second mesh panels is positioned substantially perpendicular to the airflow.

  • Patent number: 8517347
Abstract: The invention relates to a drum winch (100) that is arranged to allow “free fall” of an anchor secured by rode to a drum (116) of the drum winch (100). The drum winch (100) includes a mounting bracket (112) and a drive shaft (114) arranged to be mounted to the mounting bracket (112) and coupled to the drive unit (118). The drum (116) is arranged relative to the drive shaft (1114) so that in a first mode of operation of the drum winch (100), the drum (116) can be rotated by rotation of the drive shaft (114). In a second mode of operation of the drum winch (100), the drum (116) is free to rotate relative to the drive shaft (114) so as to enable “free fall” of the anchor. The drum winch (100) further includes means for actuating (150) either the first mode of operation or the second mode of operation.

  • Patent number: 5998288
Abstract: An integrated circuit fabrication process is provided for forming relatively thin sidewall spacers extending laterally from upper portions of opposed sidewall surfaces of a transistor gate conductor which resides partially within a trench of a semiconductor substrate. The present invention contemplates etching a trench through a masking layer and partially through a silicon-based substrate arranged underneath the masking layer. A gate dielectric is then formed upon silicon-based surfaces which border the trench. A conformal dielectric layer is deposited across the masking layer and the gate dielectric, followed by the deposition of a gate conductor material across the dielectric layer. The gate conductor material and the dielectric layer are removed from above the upper surface of the masking layer. Portions of the dielectric layer interposed between the masking layer and the gate conductor are etched to a level commensurate with the substrate surface.

  • Patent number: 5238200
Abstract: A rope winding device having a spool rotatably coupled to the device for receiving the rope, a drive motor attached to the device for rotating the spool to wind the rope on the spool and a solenoid coupled between the device and the spool for selectively moving the spool axially into and out of engagement with the drive motor for selectively rotating the spool. A switch is provided in the rope eyelet for automatically causing the motor to stop when the line is reeled in to its maximum extent. The device includes a stop member on the ski rope for preventing the weight of the towed load to be placed on the spool and includes a friction member for braking the spool and preventing free rotation thereof.

  • Patent number: 4497470
Abstract: A device for pulling electrical cable through conduit having a rigid frame with two wheels mounted thereon for being moved in a wheelbarrow like fashion and having attached to the frame a motor for driving a torque converter and speed reduced which drive a shaft which is clutched and which has a reel of cable connected thereto in which a guide and support mechanism directs the cable to the reel and support the entire device in a fixed position relative to the conduit through which the cable is being pulled and in which the motor can be remotely controlled by a switch.
