  • Patent number: 5681139
Abstract: A lifting trolley having a main frame supported on ground engaging wheels, a handle pivotally connected to the main frame and a lifting sub-frame which is vertically movable with respect to the main frame is disclosed. The sub-frame has a pair of spaced apart arms, each of which include retractable engagement means in the form of pivoting catch members that are adapted to secure a load, such as a stack of crates, to the sub-frame. Linkage means, such as a pulley and cable assembly between the handle and sub-frame, enabling pivotal movement of the handle to cause vertical movement of the sub-frame with respect to the main frame is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5460469
Abstract: The invention comprises a panel lifting apparatus having a U shaped horizontal frame with rollers mounted along the bottom for transporting the frame from place to place. A pair of inclined channels are mounted in spaced relation along the apex of the frame. A pair of hooks having rod like extensions are each mounted on a frame having rollers for rolling along the inclined channels to roll the hooks upward and downward along the inclined channels. A crank and drum are rotatably mounted on one of said channels. A cable has its ends attached to the pair of hooks and an intermediate portion extending through the drum whereby rotation of the drum by the crank in one direction causes the cables to wind in opposite directions on the same drum to wind the ends of the cables upward simultaneously and thereby draw the hooks upward on the channels simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 5368429
Abstract: The invention comprises a panel lifting apparatus having at least three telescoping elongated sections telescoping into one another and all telescoping into a non-telescoping elongated frame member. Three separate chain length segaments not directly connected to one another act to raise and lower the telescoping sections. The first chain segament has its upper and lower end mounted to the upper and lower end of the first telescoping section. The second chain segament has its upper end connected to the upper end of the non-telescoping section and its lower end connected to the lower end of the second telescoping section. The third chain segament has its upper end connected to the upper end of the first telescoping section and its lower end connected to the lower end of the third telescoping section. The non-telescoping section has a gear drive with its output gear engaging the first chain segament to raise and lower the first chain segament to thereby raise and lower the first telescoping section.

  • Patent number: 4600348
Abstract: A panel hoist for raising sheet or panel materials such as sheet rock, plywood, rock lath and similar materials. The panel hoist is used to aid in installation of these panels, particularly when the installer is working singlehandedly. The panel hoist includes a telescoping mast assembly, preferably having three stage operation. A collapsible base framework is provided with casters so that the panel hoist can be rolled into position. The collapsible base framework is specially constructed so as to minimize the size of the unit in the collapsed. Two different head assemblies are provided, depending upon whether panels are being installed horizontally or upright. The head assemblies are also collapsible to provide compactness and easy portability.

  • Patent number: 4395181
Abstract: A vehicle is disclosed for automatically transporting loaded pallets within a plurality of tracks forming a storage rack. The vehicle comprises a main body having a plurality of wheels extending out of the sides thereof. A lift mechanism is mounted on the main body and is extendable therefrom for raising or lowering a loaded pallet above or onto the support surface of the tracks. Each lift mechanism comprises a pair of support bars, with each bar being connected to a pair of lifters or support elements. Each pair of lifters is jointly raised and lowered by flexible chains which extend over fixed supports and a double eccentric drive mechanism located therebetween. A horizontally positioned guide wheel also extends out of each corner of the carriage to contact the track rails and center the carriage at all times on the track. The carriage and lift mechanisms are respectively driven by a pair of drive motors located on the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4369014
Abstract: The invention has hoist means to elevate or lower Panels, such as sheetrock, wall board and plywood and the like, and, exactly place and fit panels of same on the ceilings of rooms in a building. The hoist means is supported on a platform having rollers thereunder to facilitate moving the same about on the floor opposite the ceiling in a room. On top of activated hoist post is an I-frame on top of which is a slidable sliding frame both lengthwise and sidewise activated by rope means wound around a drum whereby said sliding frame may be shifted lengthwise on said I-frame, and, other rope means wound around said drum after freeing the first named rope means from said drum whereby said H-frame is slidable sidewise over said I-frame.
