Abstract: The invention comprises a panel lifting apparatus having a U shaped horizontal frame with rollers mounted along the bottom for transporting the frame from place to place. A pair of inclined channels are mounted in spaced relation along the apex of the frame. A pair of hooks having rod like extensions are each mounted on a frame having rollers for rolling along the inclined channels to roll the hooks upward and downward along the inclined channels. A crank and drum are rotatably mounted on one of said channels. A cable has its ends attached to the pair of hooks and an intermediate portion extending through the drum whereby rotation of the drum by the crank in one direction causes the cables to wind in opposite directions on the same drum to wind the ends of the cables upward simultaneously and thereby draw the hooks upward on the channels simultaneously.
Abstract: The device comprises a supporting platform for at least one automobile, with sides each provided with a pair of wheels connected to variable-geometry supports. The supports are adapted for contact engagement, during the motion of the platform, with guides provided on the vertical elements of a supporting structure and configured so as to offer a sloping portion proximate to the base and a substantially vertical portion.
Abstract: A pipe handling apparatus is adapted for transferring oil well pipe to and from a drilling rig. The apparatus includes a transportable chassis having tracks for supporting and guiding a reciprocable and rotatable table. A first scissors lift mounted to the table provides vertical motion to a platform to which is mounted a second scissors lift. The second scissors lift is designed to impart vertical and horizontal motion to a conveyor. The conveyor comprises three axially spaced endless belts for moving the pipe longitudinally to the conveyor takeoff point. Tapered spades protrude into the spaces during the pipe return operation to eject the pipe from the conveyor. The conveyor and platform are reciprocable with respect to the second and first scissors lifts, respectively. The chassis includes pivotable arms for raising a pipe to the top of the collapsed scissors lifts so that a pipe rolls onto the conveyor belts prior to lifting.
Abstract: A system is provided embodying a platform spaced on runners which is movable into and from a railway car having one entire side open when the hinged side is raised. This produces the most economical use of a closed car as it can be moved to an unloading dock where the mechanism of the system is advanced beneath the platform within the car and raised to free the platform from the floor so that it and its load may be withdrawn. The car is then advanced to a loading dock where a similar mechanism is employed having the platform loaded so that it and the platform can be advanced into the car and lowered onto the floor permitting the mechanism to be withdrawn and the side of the car closed and latched.
