Patent number: 7708244Abstract: A vehicle stabilization device for use in stabilizing a vehicle to enable safe and rapid victim extrication operations by first responder and other personnel. The device includes a base plate for enabling its emplacement on an underlying support surface beneath the vehicle to be stabilized. First and second extender members, each having a base end and a distal end, are hingedly connected to each other at their distal ends. The base ends are rotably mounted to the base plate and are moveable toward each other from an initial spaced position. This reduction of spacing between the base ends acts in conjunction with the hinged attachment between the distal ends to increasingly incline the extender members with respect to the base plate and thereby increasingly elevate the distal ends above the base plate. A vehicle contact and support member is secured to the distal hinged ends, and elevates with the distal ends of the extender members until contact is made with the overlying portion of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2007Date of Patent: May 4, 2010Assignee: Power Hawk Technologies, Inc.Inventor: William Hickerson

The pivot point of the leveler is preferably disposed further from the driveway than the rear of the leveler.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2006Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Inventor: Grant Leum

Patent number: 7621504Abstract: A cribbing apparatus for stabilizing a post-accident vehicle against unwanted movement of the vehicle during a rescue operation in which a victim trapped in the vehicle is to be extricated from the vehicle including a cribbing block having a two cribbing block portions, one of which is vertically movable with respect to the second in order to fill a space between the vehicle and the ground. The cribbing block includes a stair-stepped upper surface to facilitate the placement of the cribbing beneath vehicles of various ground clearances. The first cribbing block portion is raised to further fill space between the vehicle and the ground on high clearance vehicles, such as SUVs, Trucks and Buses. The structure and operation of the cribbing apparatus eliminates the need to forcefully jam cribbing into place between the vehicle and the ground and eliminates the need to stack cribbing.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2007Date of Patent: November 24, 2009Inventor: Craig McCallum

Publication number: 20090189130Abstract: A modular vehicle ramp system is provided for elevating all four wheels of a vehicle off of the ground to allow a user easy access beneath the elevated vehicle. The components are modular allowing the ramp system to be employed in several different reconfigurable arrangements. A first embodiment provides one wheel support and one ramp that releasably engages with the wheel support. In another embodiment, at least two wheel supports are employed with two corresponding ramps releasably engaged therewith. Finally in another embodiment, two bridge sections extend between two wheel supports positioned at the front and two wheel supports positioned at the rear. Two ramps are releasably engaged with either the two forward or rear wheel supports such that a car can be driven up the ramps and over the bridge sections such that the four vehicle wheels are supported on the four wheel supports.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 23, 2009Publication date: July 30, 2009Inventor: Richard Heinz

Publication number: 20080296542Abstract: A portable lift including a pair of elongate rails adapted for being located underneath corresponding lift points associated with a vehicle to be elevated. A pair of cross members fixedly securing at opposite ends to spaced apart locations associated with the rails and in order to construct a frame. Scissor jacks are associated with end location of the first and second rails. A drive shaft communicates to one or more of the scissor jacks, and responsive to a converted rotary input, actuates the jacks, separately or in unison, thereby causing the rails to vertically displaced for elevating and/or lowering the vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2008Publication date: December 4, 2008Inventors: Boytcho Manev, Eric B. Patent number: 7416166Abstract: The present invention is a unitary piece block formed of polymers (such as polystyrene or other high strength polymer) by a single injection molding step which are assembled into a recreational vehicle leveler. The invention ramp provides four sets of four connectors at a top of a floor plate, which are adapted to interlock in cavity structures formed within a cavity on the underside of the block. Two adjacent blocks are secured together by applying to their top surfaces the securing cavity structure of an underside of a third such block. Such blocks can be stacked in an interlocking manner to reduce storage space.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2007Date of Patent: August 26, 2008Inventor: Anne Shaw

Patent number: 7350255Abstract: A ramp for a vehicle comprises an elongated track with a leading end and a trailing end. The leading end engages a flatbed platform of a vehicle, and the trailing end engages a ground surface so that there is a slope between the leading and trailing ends when the ramp is in a first usage. The elongated track is constituted by multiple engaging elements. The elements are movable relative to each other so that the elements are capable of being packed in a stack to define a platform for a wheel of a vehicle. This permits raising of the wheel of a vehicle above the ground level. There is a hinge between adjacent elements, and the elements of the ramp are hinged at opposite ends for relative folding to permit for a stacked relationship about adjacent ends.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2006Date of Patent: April 1, 2008Assignee: Larin CorporationInventor: Shouyun Zhang

Patent number: 7331544Abstract: A deployable receptacle includes a tray for supporting an object thereon and being movable between a storing position and a deploying position. The tray stores an object thereon when the tray is disposed in the storing position and deploys the object therefrom when the tray is disposed in the deploying position. A lever is coupled to the tray for moving the tray between the storing position and the deploying position.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2006Date of Patent: February 19, 2008Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Anthony A. Patent number: 7316043Abstract: A combined ramp and chocking construction for a four-wheeled vehicle can be adjusted to a first position in which the construction forms a ramp, and to a second position in which the construction provides four vehicle chocks. The construction includes four units arranged sequentially two and two in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Each of the units is elongate and pivotal about an axis that is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Each unit is also intended to be generally straight in the first position and generally angled in the second position, in response to rotation about their pivot axes.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2005Date of Patent: January 8, 2008Assignee: Car-O-Liner ABInventors: Peter Henblad, Larseric Philipsson, Magnus Eek, Sivert Stenkvist, Juhani Marttiin

Patent number: 7278627Abstract: A lift and support structure is provided for a lawn tractor which includes a frame with a center lift member secured to and separating a pair of wheel support members. Ramps are secured to the wheel support members to permit the front or rear wheels of the lawn tractor to be rolled onto or off of the lift and support structure. The center lift member is elevated above the wheel support members to permit a floor jack or other lifting mechanisms to be placed under the lift and support structure. A pair of support legs may be locked in a raised position to support the lawn tractor for safe and easy access to the underneath side of the tractor, and may be pivoted or folded to the side when the lift and support structure is in a lowered position.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2005Date of Patent: October 9, 2007Inventor: Raymond A.
