Float Threads Patents (Class 26/11)
  • Patent number: 11814756
Abstract: A selvage yarn shedding apparatus of a loom including two support bodies each having carrier rods configured to support a heddle into which a selvage yarn is inserted and a slide guide having both end portions to which the carrier rods are attached; a drive motor configured to drive in forward-reverse rotations; a support frame including a guide member; and a motion conversion mechanism configured to convert rotation of an output shaft of a drive motor into reciprocating motion in upper-lower direction of each support body. Each of the support bodies includes a connecting part including an extension portion provided above the carrier rod and extending from the slide guide in a longitudinal direction of the carrier rod toward a side where the heddle exists, where the connecting part is configured to connect the slide guide and the motion conversion mechanism each other at the extension portion.

Abstract: A method including: providing a portion of double cloth including a first layer joined to a second layer, the layers being joined by a two-dimensional distribution of joining threads obtained by weaving; detaching the first layer from the second layer along an edge zone of the double cloth, to define on the first layer a band in which the first layer is separated from the second layer; cutting the band of the first layer, so that the second layer exhibits a projecting strip which projects with respect to a free edge of the first layer; arranging a further portion of fabric in contact with the second layer; joining the further portion of fabric to the second layer by a joining line arranged along the projecting strip; after the step of joining, turning the further portion of fabric, to move the further portion of fabric away from the second layer.

  • Patent number: 7536760
Abstract: In a rotary cutting apparatus, including a rotary blade having a cutting blade on the outer circumference and rotating radially in one direction; a housing for accommodating the rotary blade; and a fixed blade in the form of a plate attached to the housing along the outer circumference of the rotary blade, for cutting objects protruding from the blade holes of the fixed blade into the housing by the function of the cutting blade of the rotary blade that comes into slide-contact with the inner surface of the fixed blade, the fixed blade is supported at only one end by hooking one edge of the fixed blade on an upstream side in a rotation direction of the rotary blade onto a hook protrusion, and attached so that it is freely displaceable in an in-plane direction and a direction crossing the plane.

  • Patent number: 6634068
Abstract: An integrated cutter for preparing the edges of a fabric for seaming includes a hooked needle which oscillates vertically in a guide bushing located close to the plane of the fabric between a retracted position where the head of the needle is not exposed and an extended position in which the needle penetrates the fabric. The needle head is shaped so that when it moves upwardly it pushes between a pair of yarns in one direction until the hook is above a yarn in the other direction. The needle hook includes a transverse groove shaped so that when it moves downwardly it captures this yarn.

  • Patent number: 5679438
Abstract: A process of decorating fabric includes the step of imparting wrinkles to the fabric oblique to the warp and weft directions and heat setting the wrinkles into the fabric. The wrinkle imparting step may include moving the fabric longitudinally and simultaneously moving portions of the fabric from side to side by frictionally engaging the fabric to an oscillating means such as an elastomeric pad or interleaved fingers and oscillating the pad or fingers from side to side. Heat setting of the fabric includes exposing the wrinkled fabric to heat at a sufficient temperature and for a sufficient duration to set the wrinkles in the fabric. Desirably, the wrinkled fabric is in contact with a transfer print paper while the fabric passes through the heat setting step to set the wrinkles and fix color on the fabric. The longitudinal movement is desirably coordinated with the side to side movement to obtain aesthetically pleasing results. The invention also includes apparatus and the product.

  • Patent number: 5546643
Abstract: A method for reducing or eliminating forming fabric edge curl includes slitting or scoring the knuckles formed by cross-machine direction yarns on the long-shute knuckle side of a papermaker's forming fabric. The knuckles are scored or slit to a depth no greater than half the diameter of the cross-machine direction yarns. At least one such slit or score is provided per knuckle. The scoring or slitting has the effect of bringing the ratio between the shrink forces acting on the two sides of the forming fabric in the cross-machine direction closer to unity, and, in turn, reduces or eliminates the edge curl resulting from shrinkage in the cross-machine direction.
