  • Publication number: 20120231946
Abstract: A method for thinning an aggregate of water-absorbent materials. An aggregate of water-absorbent materials includes hydrophilic fibers and superabsorbent polymer particles and has a thickness direction. Steam at a temperature corresponding to water's boiling point or higher is ejected to the aggregate while the aggregate is compressed in the thickness direction.

  • Patent number: 5469608
Abstract: Each roller (7) is mounted by means of bearings (36) on a shaft beam (30) tegral with the stator (42) of the electric motor, while the rotor (50) of said electric motor extends in annular form around the stator (42) and is integral with the peripheral shell (7B) of the roller.

  • Patent number: 5412853
Abstract: An apparatus for finishing a fabric web by subjecting a usually wetted fabric which is carefully handled preferably on a spreader in the case of knits or a tenter-like device in the case of woven or non-woven webs so that it remains flat and smooth and then presenting the fabric to a fabric treating station comprising endless belts in abutting relationship to shrink or finish the fabric and finally removing the fabric from the fabric treating station or arrangement. An apparatus for finishing a fabric by passing a carefully handled fabric onto a device to smooth the fabric and move same to a confined space formed by side by side plural, usually endless, belts with guide means on the outer surfaces thereof and said plural belts arranged to change direction around inner rolls disposed on the opposite ends of said belts to finish or shrink said fabric either as a result of the curvature caused by the change in direction of said belts or in the nip formed by the rolls at one end.

  • Patent number: 5274891
Abstract: In a fulling machine for textiles and the like, comprising a pair of draw cylinders (3, 4) between which the textile (T) is made to pass and means of driving said cylinders, said driving means comprise, for each cylinder (3, 4), a motor (13) disposed inside the cylinder itself with the motor drive shaft extending in a direction perpendicular to the cylinder axis of rotation. In this way a substantial reduction in the transverse dimension is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5274892
Abstract: A device for the continuous and tension free treatment of textile sheets is provided. The device comprises an air-permeable endlessly circulating material web bearing surface; an upper stationary and air permeable delimiting wall, the material web bearing surface and the delimiting wall defining a transport channel; at least one upper blower nozzle, the blower nozzle orientated downwardly and running transversely with respect to the direction of the material web bearing surface; at least one lower blower nozzle arranged in a direction in which the material web is moved the lower nozzle offset with respect to said upper blower nozzle; and the upper and lower blower nozzles arranged with respect to each other to very abruptly alternate the movement of the material web, up and down and to contactlessly support the material web above the material web bearing surface while in the transport channel. Additionally, a method of treating the textile sheets is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4422308
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for spreading a moving web of textile material during a treatment by means of fluid streams directed from the middle to the edges of the web. The side edges of the web are probed by sensors which control the fluid streams directed onto the associated edges of the web. In this way, reliable spreading is obtained with minimal outlay, even with different webs of textile material and under varying working conditions.

  • Patent number: 3956806
Abstract: The fulling machine comprises a plurality of pairs of rollers in facing relation to each other and movable relative to each other and defining therebetween a passage and pinching gap. At least one of the rollers of each pair of rollers undergoes a cylindrical movement which varies both the width of the gap and the relative position of the two rollers in a direction perpendicular to the gap and to the axis of the roller. It is particularly advantageous in the fulling of felt pieces.
