Traveling Clamp Or Hook Type Patents (Class 26/52)
  • Patent number: 10633789
Abstract: A flame retardant fabric wherein a flame retardant composition is applied to the fabric while the fabric is being stretched. Preferably, the fabric is a blend of cotton and a thermoset. Carbon fibers may be included to impart anti-static properties. The present invention includes a method of treating a woven or knitted fabric of cotton blended with a thermoset, or with a thermoplastic, or with both with a flame retardant composition comprising the steps of stretching the fabric up to 12% greater than its un-stretched dimensions and, while so stretched, applying a flame retardant to the fabric and then allowing the fabric to shrink back to its approximate original dimensions. The flame retardant may either be applied to the fabric or the fabric may be immersed in an aqueous bath containing flame retardants.

  • Patent number: 6996881
Abstract: Method and plant for processing in the form of washing and/or ironing of substantially flat items (4), such as textiles and the like, which individually can be fed continuously and successively into a processing plant. The processing plant contains fixed as well as movable, tubular parts (12, 13, 14, 15), where the process or the processes take place in a forwardly-progressing movement by means of a holding arrangement (6) with a holding device (7) for the securing and stretching-out of one or more items (4), the holding arrangement (6) securing the item (4) or the items (4) from the feeding-in part (1) in the process, through washing and/or ironing parts until the processes are concluded. A plant for the execution of the method was the fixed and the movable parts which form part of the processing part of the plant consisting of a number of tubular elements (12, 13, 14, 15) which are disposed in a substantially horizontal manner and transversely to the processing direction.

  • Publication number: 20040237268
Abstract: A stentering machine having a horizontal drying zone and a vertical pretreatment zone for a strip of material held spread out between tension chains configured as slide chains is described. The tension chains are brought from the vertical into the horizontal position in a deflection zone. In order to achieve the result that the slide pads that carry the tension chain, in each instance, make area contact with the related support guideways both in the horizontal, level region and in the curved region of the guide rails, the slide surfaces of the supporting slide pads that are affixed to the chain are divided into three consecutive zones, in the transport direction, namely a level edge zone, a curved center zone, and a second level edge zone.

  • Patent number: 5985070
Abstract: Method and device for stretching a web (8) of material in the manufacture of a liquid-absorbent article, having an absorption body (4) and a cover enclosing the same. The article is made from the web (8) of material being fed in its longitudinal direction, on which web one or more elongated elastic members (11-14) are fastened. The members extend at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the web and thereby subject the web to forces which are directed transversely to the longitudinal direction of the web. The web (8) of material is kept stretched in its longitudinal direction as well as in its transverse direction by mechanical restraint of the web of material adjacent to its longitudinal edge-portions (19,20).

  • Patent number: 5499433
Abstract: An apparatus for shearing, tigering, napping or other surface treatment of a finite length of a textile fabric, particularly pile and plush fabrics, is disclosed which is especially adapted for experimental research and development usage in a laboratory setting. The apparatus includes a rotatably driven roller having a fabric surface-engaging periphery and an arm assembly for supporting the fabric piece for presentation to the roller, the arm assembly being movable between a fabric-loading position spaced from the roller and a treatment position in close adjacency to the roller.

  • Patent number: 5000806
Abstract: The invention includes a method and apparatus for applying an elastic strand to disposable diapers. It uses canted, spindle-equipped wheels for engaging an elastic strand, moving the elastic strand into a sinuous configuration and stretching the strand. Stripping belts apply the strand to a diaper component.

  • Patent number: 4924545
Abstract: In order to be able to distribute the stretching forces more uniformly when stretching the fabric web in respect of width in the conical entry area of the tentering frame, the edge zones (14, 14') of the fabric web (2) are sprayed with a hot medium, for example hot weak lye, more heavily than the central zone (19). The already stabilized edge zones thus transmit the stretching forces into the central zone, thus avoiding different spacings between the warp threads after the stretching operation. Differentiated spraying is achieved by means of spray pipes (13) which are arranged in a particular fashion.

  • Patent number: 4717143
Abstract: Pieces of flat sheet material, such as films of synthetics or cloth, are fed by a transport apparatus in a stretched out condition into a processing station, for example a molding and laminating station or a treatment station. The transport apparatus uses either tentering type frames or a conveyer with tentering chains. A piece of flat sheet material is attached to a tentering frame or to the tentering chains by a respective apparatus. The tentering frames are moved vertically in a determined order between a lower position, an intermediate position, an upper position and a delivering position located in the processing station horizontally at the same level as one of the three other positions, whereby a tentering frame carrying a piece is moved into the processing station for delivering the piece of sheet material and back again for exchange with a tentering frame carrying another piece of sheet material.
