    Abstract: Methods to increase structural performance, strength, and durability of textile-reinforced composite materials are provided. The textile reinforcement may be knitted, for example, in a flat bed weft knitting machine. The method may include pre-stressing a textile reinforcement preform by applying tension. A polymeric precursor may be introduced to the pre-stressed textile reinforcement preform. The polymeric precursor may then be cured or consolidated, followed by releasing of the applied tension to form the composite article comprising polymer and the pre-stressed textile reinforcement. In other aspects, a composite article is provided that has a pre-stressed textile reinforcement structure and a cured polymer. The textile reinforcement may be a knitted, lightweight, seamless, unitary structure.

Fresh air feeding pipes are connected to the first and second clip covers. Fresh air is fed from the fresh air feeding pipes toward the clips through air outlets provided in the first and second clip covers.

    Abstract: The present invention pertains to a feed mechanism for a sewing machine for displacement-free, near-edge connection of two flexible layers of fabric in the direction of sewing. The receiving elements include clamp lower parts arranged at a vertically spaced location from the fabric support surface and clamp upper parts that can be actuated like pushbuttons, as well as a pressing element acting on the clamp upper parts.With their edges that are to be connected, the fabric layers are fed into a flat feeding section and fixed and carried by a first clamp and continually fixed by consecutive clamps in the same position in the device, thus carried along the stitch formation site, and continuously released in the sewn state at a discharge point.

    Abstract: A guide track for a tentering chain carrying tentering clamps supports the clamps by a number of rollers to form a tentering frame, especially for a film stretching machine. The guide track is an endless track with U-turns in which a single semicircle type of U-turn has been replaced by a U-turn including two partial curved sections each having a smaller radius of curvature and the two curved sections are interconnected by a straight intermediate section. The reversing or looping curved section at the beginning of the reverse run is so constructed that at this location a drive sprocket wheel can mesh with the tentering chain. Thus, the drive sprocket which was a source of contamination for the web is located remote from the web to thereby substantially reduce any possibilities of contaminating the web.
