  • Patent number: 10240865
Abstract: A system is disclosed for drying a material to liberate a substance such as a liquid having a vapor pressure from solids and/or dissolved substances in the material. The system includes a plenum chamber and a blower providing a stream of air to the plenum chamber. An outlet communicates with the plenum chamber and a velocity accelerator is disposed downstream of the outlet. The velocity accelerator is arranged to receive air from the outlet of the plenum chamber into a progressively narrowing interior passageway terminating at a downstream choke point orifice. The choke point orifice discharges into a larger diameter discharge region. A throttle body is disposed in the discharge region and is selectively movable toward and away from the choke point orifice to decrease or increase the volume of the discharge region. A passageway is formed through the throttle body for receiving flashed material from the discharge region and conveying the material in a downstream direction.

  • Patent number: 8672300
Abstract: A modified carburetor allows the fuel and air input ratio to be adjusted by varying the opening sizes in the carburetor. After the proper air opening size is determined and set, the fuel jet setting can be adjusted for cold starts and/or to fine tune the engine. The air opening setting may remain the same, regardless of engine speed. This allows the engine to create a vacuum of near zero to five inches of mercury or more, depending on the speed of the engine. A small air input opening setting may be used for the engine to create this vacuum. The higher the vacuum created, the better the fuel efficiency. The fuel from the modified carburetor then flows through a heated evaporator chamber that maintains this vacuum. This enhances and completes the evaporation process as the fuel passes through and over metal shavings toward the engine.

Abstract: An ultrasonic solution separating method wherein a solution is ultrasonically vibrated and atomized into mist in a carrier gas in an ultrasonic atomizing chamber (4) and the carrier gas including atomized mist is transferred to a collecting part (5) and in the collecting part (5) the mist component comprising solution atomized into mist is separated from the carrier gas. In the ultrasonic solution separating method, in the collecting part (5), mist component is separated from the carrier gas in an adsorbing step of causing mist component to be adsorbed onto an adsorbing agent (15) by bringing the carrier gas including mist component into contact with the adsorbing agent (15) and a separating step of separating mist component adsorbed onto the adsorbing agent (15) in the adsorbing step from the adsorbing agent (15), and mist component is separated from the carrier gas with the pressure of the separating step being made lower than the pressure of adsorbing step.

Abstract: A carburetor includes an air inlet with a mechanically adjustable air valve, a mechanically adjustable atomizer discharging in the air inlet, and a mechanical metering device connected with the air valve and the atomizer, maintaining a stoichiometric ratio between amounts of air and fuel. Additionally, the carburetor includes a fuel pressure regulating unit to regulate the fuel pressure of fuel injected in the air inlet, based on one or more dynamic engine load parameters under which a vacuum signal in the air inlet is obtained via a vacuum intake conduit discharging into the air inlet. By regulating the fuel pressure also in dependence of the measured vacuum signal, the emission of unburned fuel is reduced under certain dynamic conditions of the combustion engine.

Abstract: Multicomponent nanoparticles materials and apparatuses and processes therefor are disclosed. In one aspect of the disclosure, separate particles generated from solution or suspension or by flame synthesis or flame spray pyrolysis, and the resultant particles are mixed in chamber prior to collection or deposition. In another aspect of the disclosure, nanoparticles are synthesized in stagnation or Bunsen flames and allowed to deposit by thermophoresis on a moving substrate. These techniques are scalable allowing mass production of multicomponent nanoparticles materials and films. The foregoing techniques can be used to prepare composites and component devices comprising one or more lithium based particles intimately mixed with carbon particles.

Abstract: A two-stroke engine with external fuel mixture generation in a carburettor. The engine including a suction funnel having an interior disposed upstream of the carburettor. The engine further includes a tapered insert having a narrow end and a wide end disposed in an area of an inlet port of the suction funnel. The insert at least partially defines the interior of the suction funnel, and the insert tapers in a flow direction of air flow from the wide end to the narrow end. Accordingly, a diameter of the interior of the suction funnel adjacent to the narrow end of the insert is substantially larger when compared to the narrow end of the insert.

Abstract: A beverage dispenser for dispensing beverages includes a touch panel assembly, removable fittings in a carbonator, a carbonator probe, and a carbonator pump assembly removable from a front of the beverage dispenser. The touch panel assembly includes a light source for backlighting a user interface and providing the dispenser with a visual presence. Electrode traces in the touch panel assembly detect interruptions in electrode fields and are accepted as user inputs for dispensing a beverage. A controller conducts the lighting, dispensing, and reconfiguring operations for the flavor selection areas on the user interface. The touch panel assembly further includes provisions for increasing a user interface area to increase visibility of a particular flavor, as well as bonus flavors on a beverage dispenser. The removable fittings each include an orifice for entry of water to be carbonated into the carbonator. The carbonator probe is a single wire probe with timed refill.

Abstract: A trumpet-shaped slinger atomizes or aerosolizes liquid by lifting liquid from adjacent the surface of the liquid using helically oriented fins rotated by spinning the slinger on a shaft. The lifted liquid is centrifugally forced over an increasing surface area and ejected from an upper edge as droplets. When used in wastewater aeration, radial fan blades on top of the slinger break up foam and increase air circulation while the increased surface area of the droplets increases diffusion of dissolved gasses from the wastewater.
