  • Patent number: 7374705
Abstract: A method for installing a fiberglass or stainless steel liner into a steel casing which results in a reduction of strain on the casing. Conventional means are used to place the liner into the casing and to fill the annular space with cement. Thereafter, maximum design operating pressure on the liner is maintained while the pressure on the annular space is reduced; maintenance of those pressures keep the liner in an expanded state while the grout cures. As a result, the liner shares the load with the casing; pressure from the fluids contained in the system during operation is not transferred to the casing through the grout until the liner's preset internal pressure is reached. The use of the method greatly reduces the possibility of flowline failure.

Depositing a sealant in the channels and pouring concrete as a structural backing material atop the facers, the rear surfaces of the facers and the concrete adhering to form a composite panel.

Abstract: A process for lining an existing pipeline or conduit with a flexible resin impregnated cured in place liner by pulling in the liner and inflating it with a reusable endless inflation bladder is provided. The liner includes a resin absorbent material in tubular form with an impermeable membrane forming an outer layer. The absorbent material is saturated with a thermoset resin and pulled into the existing conduit. A flexible inflation bladder maintained on a inflation bladder spool is everted into the collapse liner which is then forced against the interior surfaces of the existing conduit, allow to cure and the bladder removed and rewound on the spool. When the everting and curing fluid is hot water, the hot water is removed and stored for reuse as the inflation bladder is withdrawn.

Abstract: A process of making a microcontact printing stamp useful in microcontact printing of microcircuits. In this process an elastomeric microcontact printing stamp is formed by curing an elastomeric monomer or oligomer in a mold in which a photoresist master, defining a microcircuit in negative relief, is predisposed above a flat and rigid backplane laminate. The flat and rigid plane member of the backplane laminate is delaminated from the backplane after the printing stamp is removed from the mold.

Abstract: A composite pole including a structural member and a cured resin layer adjacent the structural member and defining an exterior surface. The composite pole can be manufactured by providing a mold, inserting a structural member within the mold to define a space between the structural member and the mold, filling the space between the structural member and the mold with a liquid thermosetting resin, curing the liquid thermosetting resin to define an exterior surface, and removing the cured liquid thermosetting resin and structural member from the mold. The composite pole can also be manufactured by casting a jacket onto an installed pole by applying a mold around the installed pole, filling a space between the installed pole and the mold with a liquid thermosetting resin, curing the liquid thermosetting resin to define an exterior surface, and removing the mold from around the cured liquid thermosetting resin and the installed pole.

Abstract: The object of the present invention is to improve the production efficiency by making its bonding process unnecessary to simplify the production process. The method of production comprises the step of integrally incorporating a magnetic material when the stationary holders 21 and 22 of the stationary member and the movable holder 31 of the movable member 30 are molded with a non-magnetic material such as a plastic material and the like. Therefore, a magnet unit in which the stationary magnets 23 and 24 or the movable magnet 32 is integrally incorporated into the stationary holders 21 and 22 or the movable holder 31 can be provided only by giving magnetization treatment on the magnetic material without using a bonding process.

Abstract: A support for holding a fluid-impervious barrier and/or keyway form in position during the pouring of concrete is provided. The support carries the barrier and a pair of spaced legs for attachment to a corresponding pair of stable mounting points, such as reinforcement members, bars or the like. The support is positioned such that the barrier is at least partially covered by concrete during the pouring of a first member, such as a slab or footing, and then the remainder is covered when a second concrete member, such as a wall, is poured atop the first member. By placing a plurality of spaced supports at selected intervals, an elongated barrier may be reliably held in place during pouring. One or more forms may also be carried by the support during the pouring of the first concrete member for defining a keyway, either alone or in conjunction with the fluid-impervious barrier. Most preferably, each keyway form is held in place by a separate wing carried on each support.
