Abstract: The invention relates a heat-treated poly(metaphenylene isophthalamide) polymer fiber having a crystalline structure as represented by a carbonyl stretch peak at a wavelength of 1,650 cm?1 in a Raman spectra response which before coloration with a dye, shrinks linearly 0.4 percent or less when exposed to 285 degrees Centigrade for 30 minutes; and which after contact with an aqueous red dye solution for 1 hour at 120 degrees Centigrade, has an āLā value coloration of at least 40 units lower than the āLā value of the fiber before coloration.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for vapor smoothing a rapid manufactured three-dimensional object. A cabinet housing has a sealable interior. A heated vapor chamber in the interior of the cabinet housing contains solvent that is vaporizable to fill the vapor chamber with vapor for smoothing the object when the object is placed in the vapor chamber. A drying chamber is also provided in the interior of the cabinet housing that is separate from the vapor chamber for drying the object when the object is moved from the vapor chamber to the drying chamber.
Abstract: A process for spinning high molecular weight poly (alph-olefin) filament, particularly ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene filament, from solution in a volatile spinning solvent with recovery and recycling of the solvent.

Abstract: Recycled ceramic slurry is produced by a method including the steps: dissolving the waste material of unfired ceramic in a solvent to form a waste solution; and adjusting a composition of the waste solution to thereby produce the recycled ceramic slurry. If the waste material of unfired ceramic includes a metal component, the metal component may be removed therefrom before the step of adjusting the composition of the waste solution.
