  • Patent number: 5198166
Abstract: A method of forming jewelry articles discloses a method of constructing multi-colored jewelry from multiple colored thread parts which are cut into short threads of approximately one-half inch in length. The cut threads of different colors are then mixed in combination with a liquid glue product and a fabric stiffener. The mixture is blended and formed into a desired shape using a mold cavity. The blend produces a "marbled look" and the mold is polished so as to give the finished article a glossy, marbled look resembling certain stone such as granite.

  • Patent number: 4946637
Abstract: A method for making reusable mold halves whereby mold aligning perturbations are directly formed in the process. Two mold parts are superimposed, one having a cavity for retaining the mold to be reproduced and the other having cavities for forming the perturbations. A molding compound is introduced into the cavities which, upon hardening, forms a first mold piece including the model and the perturbations. The mold piece is retained within one of the mold parts, turned upside down, and superimposed with another mold part. Molding compound is introduced into the assembly and hardens to form a second mold piece formed with recesses that are complementary to the perturbations. The mold pieces are separated from the mold parts and the model is removed to form two aligning mold halves.

  • Patent number: 4332074
Abstract: A decorative emblem is formed by producing a decorative surface, which may be printed and embossed, on a foil substrate. An integral bezel is then formed around the periphery of the decorative surface. Fluent plastic is cast onto the decorative surface to form a meniscus over it. Upon curing, the plastic cap gives a lens effect to the decorative surface. The decorative emblem may be adapted with several types of different attachment means, such as an edge adhesive strip, for fastening it to the intended surface such as an automobile, appliance, or other object.
