  • Patent number: 8701290
Abstract: A method of making a compressible elastomeric spring including at least one compressible elastomeric pad enclosed by a pair of metal plates includes the steps of forming plates with a center aperture and a plurality of prongs positioned about a peripheral edge thereof, forming each end of the pad with an axial projection and abutting groove, aligning the plurality of prongs with each respective projection and respective groove and applying axial force to one end of the spring to frictionally interlock the plurality of prongs with such projection and groove. The method also provides for making a multi-tiered stack of pads separated by plates in the above described manner and pre-shortening the spring prior to installation into the conventional yoke. The above described method additionally improves axial straightness and lateral stability of the multi-tiered spring assembly.

  • Patent number: 7793922
Abstract: A bound stopper provided with a drainage path for draining water that has passed through drainage holes formed in a bottom portion of a bracket. The drainage path is constituted by a recessed portion formed on at least one of a plurality of corresponding portions of a fixing metal fitting and the recessed portion opens outward in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the fitting. The corresponding portions are positioned so as to correspond to each of the plurality of the drainage holes, upon the fitting being in contact with the bracket. A locating projection is provided on an outer surface of the corresponding portion different from the corresponding portion having the recessed portion. Insertion of a locating projection into the drainage hole corresponding to the different corresponding portion allows the fitting to be circumferentially positioned such that the corresponding portions correspond to the drainage holes.

  • Patent number: 7396003
Abstract: A fluid-filled vibration-damping device includes an elastic body elastically connects a first mounting member and a cylindrical second mounting member bonded to opposite side thereof; a diaphragm supported by the second mounting member so that the diaphragm cooperates with the elastic body to define therebetween a fluid chamber; and a partition member supported by the second mounting member so that the partition member divides the fluid chamber into a primary fluid chamber and an auxiliary fluid chamber which are held in communication through an orifice passage defined by an orifice-defining member having a movable rubber plate disposed in its central hole. The surface of the orifice-defining member is coated at a primary-fluid-chamber-defining area by a coating rubber layer, thereby minimizing noises caused by bubbles in the fluid chamber.

  • Patent number: 7036804
Abstract: A hydraulic mount having first and second fluid tracks, and a decoupler functioning as an air spring with two remotely selectable settings. The settings allow tailoring of the air spring characteristics to provide mount damping for differing engine operating states, such as engine idle. A solenoid is used to select a smaller or larger air volume to control the characteristics of the air spring and, in turn, the dynamic response of the hydraulic mount. An integral controller provides switched operation of the solenoid and compensates for variations in temperature and input voltage, as well as minimizing electrical noise generated by the solenoid when it is energized.

  • Patent number: 6499729
Abstract: An improved hydraulic engine mounting device is provided which includes a main body defined by first and second shells. Each of these shells contains a chamber separated from each other by an orifice assembly. The first shell includes a flange for supporting the orifice assembly the second shell interengaging with the first shell at the flange area. The diaphragm is interposed between the second shell and the orifice assembly within the second chamber. The orifice assembly includes a ledge portion extending about an outer perimeter of the orifice assembly, the perimeter of the diaphragm captured between the ledge portion and the perimeter of the second shell. A plastically deforming perimeter of the first shell presses the diaphragm between the orifice and the second shell to provide a tight hydraulic seal.
