Same Actuator Type For Each Jaw Patents (Class 269/145)
  • Publication number: 20130312247
Abstract: A tool is provided for moving a first clamping or gripping member toward or away from a second facing clamping or gripping member, the tool having a double threaded drive shaft coupled to opposed threaded linkage driving members for causing the threaded linkage driving members to be driven toward or away from each other. As the threaded linkage driving members move closer, the resulting angle of the links becomes steeper, thus increasing the mechanical advantage of the clamping tool, enhancing clamping forces. A beneficial result is a clamping apparatus that requires less manual energy than a traditional clamp. Another beneficial result is provided if the same amount of energy is applied to the driveshaft as in a traditional clamp, the resulting clamping force is significantly higher. If the second clamping member is adjustable, it accommodates wide variations in thickness of an object positioned between the first and second clamping members.

  • Publication number: 20130193627
Abstract: An adjustable clamping device for use in temporarily securing together opposed stairway stringers about one or more stair tread members includes a body member having opposed upper and lower ends. A length adjustable first arm is connected to the body member upper end and a length adjustable second arm is connected to the body member lower end. The clamping device includes a pressure plate having a generally planar configuration and situated parallel to the body member. An actuator having a first portion is operatively coupled to the body member and to the pressure plate to selectively move the pressure plate between retracted and extended configurations. A user input is attached to a proximal end of the actuator by which a user may operate the actuator to move the pressure plate.

  • Patent number: 6769674
Abstract: A foldable workbench comprises at least a foldable leg frame, two clamp assemblies, to angular control board, several angular regulators, several clamp boards and a flat workbench, in which two clamp assemblies are linked to the foldable leg frame. The adjusting holes of the angular control board are connected to one side of clamp assemblies. Several angular regulators are arranged at both ends of the clamp assemblies. In addition, several clamp boards are bolted on the angular regulators. The flat workbench is placed on the angle iron rake of the brace.

  • Patent number: 6113088
Abstract: In order to enable quick and easy clamping of a work piece or device to the top of a work bench, the work bench is formed with a plurality of keyhole-like slots which are adapted to receive a threaded shaft and stopper arrangement which extends down from each of a plurality of rocker arm-like clamp members. Each of these clamps is such that a stopper which is provided on the bottom of the threaded shafts, is wider than the width of the slot. Rocker arms, which are connected to the upper ends of the threaded shaft, are each provided with a vertically extending bore through which a threaded shaft extends, and an intersecting lateral bore in which a follower nut which cooperates with the threaded shaft, is received. The lateral bore is formed toward one end of the rocker arm that is adapted to have engagement fingers or members at each end.
