Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a mechanical force actuator which is light weight and manipulatable and utilizes linear motion for push or pull forces while maintaining a constant overall length. The mechanical force producing mechanism comprises a linear actuator mechanism (22,23) and a linear motion shaft (11) mounted parallel to one another. The linear motion shaft (11) is connected to a stationary or fixed housing (12) and to a movable housing (26) where the movable housing (26) is mechanically actuated through actuator mechanism (22,26) by either manual means (21) or motor means (20). The housings (12,26) are adapted to releasably receive a variety of jaw or pulling elements (28) adapted for clamping or prying action. The stationary housing (12) is adapted to be pivotally mounted to permit an angular position of the housing to allow the tool to adapt to skewed interfaces. The actuator mechanisms (22,23) is operated by through a gear train (19) to obtain linear motion of the actuator mechanism.

Abstract: A versatile workbench has a frame including splayed tripod legs and further including a pair of horizontally-disposed parallel guide rails. A movable jaw is carried on a threaded rod disposed between the guide rails. The movable jaw cooperates with a fixed jaw on the frame for clamping a workpiece therebetween. The jaws have respective faces provided with threaded recesses. A plurality of support rods may be removably received in the threaded recesses. A pair of clamps may be removably secured to a respective support rod, and a screw-threaded means is carried by one of the clamps for moving the clamps towards and away from one another. With this overall arrangement, variously shaped workpieces may be clamped within the workbench.
Abstract: A portable clamping device is disclosed which utilizes conventional pipe clamps suspended between saw horses with pipe mounting device to provide a combination work table, bench vice, and gluing press. The device is adjustable in both size and shape. A pipe mounting device for mounting the pipe clamps on the saw horses is also described. The pipe mounting device consists of an annular pipe holder attached to a saw horse mounting bracket in either fixed or pivoting arrangement. Thumb screws are provided on both pipe holder and saw horse brackets.

Abstract: A bar clamp of the type which uses standard pipe for the bar and modified for jacking. The jack includes first and second pipes of suitable length each threaded at at least one end thereof. The first pipe is substantially longer than the second pipe and has a first jaw member slidable therealong for quick positioning and lockable at any position. A mounting bracket having a threaded bore extending from one face thereof to and through an opposite face interconnects the first and second pipes. A second jaw member is slidable along the second pipe and movable by rotating a threaded rod that extends through an additional threaded bore in the bracket. A handle is swingably connected to one end of the threaded rod for use in rotating the same.
