  • Patent number: 4921378
Abstract: Rotary-pallet system, in particular for multi-directional machining of the pieces (8) to be machined. In the said system there is a body piece (2), one of whose ends (A) is attached to a holder, which said body piece is rotable around a longitudinal axis (A-B), and against whose longitudinal guide faces one or several pieces (8) to be machined can be positioned. One or several wedge pieces (3) can be attached to the edge of the guide face on the body (2), the wedge face on the said wedge piece being pressed towards a side of the piece (8) to be machined. A counter-face (4, 13) is provided at the opposite side of the piece to be machined. The wedge piece (3) can be attached to the body (2) by means of a fastening member (1), which is directed in such a way diagonally that the direction of the fastening movement of the wedge piece approaches both the body (2) and the piece (8) to be machined at the same time.

  • Patent number: 4807863
Abstract: An improved vise has two sets of clamping jaws. Two fixed jaws are on a fixed body and two sliding jaws are supported by a sliding body and driven simultaneously in the same direction by one threaded shaft. Each sliding jaw is paired with a fixed jaw and the fixed jaws are located between the sliding jaws. Each pair of jaws may be located in a different plane from the other pair of jaws. The second jaw pair includes a sliding jaw formed as a circumferential jaw in a horizontal plane permitting an object to be clamped vertically. Further, a third sliding jaw/fixed jaw pair may be located adjacent to the first jaw pair and may include a multiple-stepped pipe clamp claw capable of clamping pipe of various diameters. In a second embodiment, the sliding jaws are located between the fixed jaws.

  • Patent number: 4641577
Abstract: Apparatus for adjusting the plate segment of an off-set lithographic printing machine drum relative to the drum has first and second blocks, each of which has a threaded bore for receiving the threads of a differential screw. One of the blocks is fastened to the frame of the drum while the other block is moveable on the screw relative to the first block. The threads of the bore in the moveable block have a smaller pitch than the threads in the bore of the fixed block so that the moveable block may be moved in controlled amounts toward and away from the fixed block. The blocks are disposed within a circumferential slot formed on a peripheral edge of the plate segment and as the screw is turned the moveable block acts against an edge of the slot to rotate the plate segment relatively to the drum. A clamp is provided for securing the blocks to the plate segment in adjusted positions.

  • Patent number: 4340211
Abstract: A vee block clamp is provided intended chiefly to hold items having a curved outer surface. The clamp comprises a plurality of clamping blocks with oppositely facing inclined edges cooperating to define a vee shaped support surface. The dimensions of the support surface are adjusted according to the size of the item to be supported by longitudinally sliding the clamping blocks toward and away from each other. The clamping blocks are constrained for horizontal sliding motion only so that the blocks are prevented from rotating relative to each other.
