Abstract: A toe clamp primarily for machining operations is provided with a fitted clamp shoe that engages the tip of the toe clamp and preferably is held thereon by a clip. The clamp shoe is of a material softer than the work piece subject of the tooling operation, so that the clamping against the work piece does not damage the surface of the work piece. The material of the clamp shoe can be aluminum, brass, plastic, or other materials depending on the work piece that is being clamped.
Abstract: A traction control device and the method of making the same wherein the device has contact surfaces, typically formed from polycrystalline diamond compacts inserted into a base, and where the inserts, and in some embodiments the base, are machined or cut to induce profiles for enhanced gripping and improved wear characteristics.

Abstract: The subject of the invention is glazing which incorporates at least one electrically controllable system having variable optical and/or energy properties, especially in the form of a system comprising one or more reversible-insertion materials of the electrochromic-system type, in the form of an optical-valve or viologen-based system or in the form of a liquid-crystal or cholesteric-gel system. This glazing also includes at least one means for adjusting the optical appearance conferred on the said glazing by the said system, these means comprising at least one coating having antireflection properties in the visible.

Abstract: A vice jaw support apparatus provides a novel support system for securement of splined and threaded work pieces within vice grippers or jaws. In a preferred form, the apparatus is formed of a polyethylene or other similar resilient material. In a preferred form, the apparatus defines a pair of plastic bodies which are interconnected by integral web portions joining the two bodies on opposite sides. The web portions are disposed for deforming outwardly when the two body portions are moved towards each other within the vice jaws. Each body contains a flange portion whereby the apparatus may be supported on the upper surfaces of associated vice jaws.
Abstract: A guide to be clamped on a door or similar object to guide a portable circular saw to insure accurate cuts. The guide has an elongated, rigid member having a block pivotally attached at one end. The object to be cut with the saw is clamped between that block and a second pivoting block slidably secured to the member. An eccentric device including a cam cooperates with a lost motion coupling for the second block to permit rapid initial installation of the guide followed by an increase in the clamping force to secure the guide in place. An elongated rib on the guide serves to stabilize the saw as the cut is made and the saw base slides along a planar portion of the guide member protecting the object from damage during the sawing operation.
Abstract: A soft chuck jaw comprising a hardened jaw body having a wedge locking means thereon and an insert of soft expendable material retained therein.
