  • Patent number: 9089912
Abstract: A band saw machine with a rod having an adjustable position to accommodate various sized workpieces includes a movable member which is mounted on a saw frame and movable relative to a movable clamp arm. The movable member and the fixing member each have a rack, and the racks are in parallel to each other. The rod includes a gear shaft engaged with the racks. When the movable clamp arm moves to accommodate the size of a workpiece, the rack of the movable member drives the gear shaft to move along the rack of the fixing member, which causes position change of the rod, so that the rod is automatically moved to a position where it can detect the workpiece in a reliable manner. Therefore, the size of the workpiece to be clamped is not limited by the position of the rod anymore.

  • Patent number: 8444128
Abstract: A work support comprises a plunger, a transmission member, a first chamber, a second chamber, a third chamber, a clamping mechanism, a plug, and a body. The plunger may be slidably retained within the clamping mechanism, which in turn is firmly held within the transmission member. The transmission member may extend and retract from the body corresponding to a pressure in the first chamber and the second chamber. Extension of the transmission member also extends the plunger such that the plunger may contact and receive a load from a work piece. The third chamber may be located between the outer surface of the clamping mechanism and the inner surface of the transmission member. Increasing pressure in the first chamber while decreasing pressure in the second chamber extends the transmission member and opens the plug which blocks the entry to the third chamber. Pressure in the third chamber closes the gap between the clamping mechanism and the plunger and applies a clamping force to the plunger.

  • Patent number: 7275899
Abstract: Machining coolant/lubricant is used to operate a piston of a clamping-side coupler by feeding same via a coolant feed passage to a clamping pressure chamber through a first check valve and a clamping pressure fluid passage. The same coolant/lubricant is discharged from an unclamping pressure chamber through an unclamping pressure fluid passage and a second check valve. The resulting movement of the piston downwards brings a clamp member into contact with a workpiece to thereby clamp the workpiece on a table. Thus, a dedicated pressure source for clamping can be dispensed with.
