The gear is rotatably connected with the mounting member and is meshed with the gear rack. The positioning member is fixedly-connected with the gear. The driver drives the gear rack to slide along the sliding groove to make the positioning member rotate and outstretch into an interior of the workpiece. The drivers drive two positioning members apply two opposite forces on the workpiece to positioning the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 9221678
Abstract: Embodiments generally relate to fixturing devices for supporting a workpiece, the devices including modularized cantilevered and fixed beam fixing elements. Each module includes a compliant beam and an interface element in contact with the workpiece and a portion of the compliant beam for transmitting a contact force between the workpiece and the beam. Dynamic adaptability of the beam is configured by selectively varying beam stiffness by varying either beam length or beam width. Varying a width can include varying a beam width, and/or breadth. In a further embodiment, the compliant beam fixed at both ends is slidable in a longitudinal direction of the beam such that a portion of the interface element slides along the beam, thus dynamically adapting the beam stiffness according to a force applied to a workpiece.

Abstract: A first piston (21) is coupled to an output rod (2) inserted in a housing (1). A second piston (22) is inserted in the housing (1) radially outside of the output rod (2). A force multiplier (36) has a wedge space (39) and a plurality of engaging balls (40). When force multiplication driving is started, the wedge space (39) is formed between a transmitting portion (37) provided in the output rod (2) and a receiving portion (38) provided in the housing (1) so as to get narrower as it extends radially inward. Before the force multiplication driving is started, the engaging balls (40) are brought into contact with an outer circumferential surface of the output rod (2), and when the force multiplication driving is started, the engaging balls (40) are pushed out toward the wedge space (39) to engage with the transmitting portion (37).

Abstract: A pin clamp for clamping a workpiece includes a housing and a locating pin extending through the housing and having a longitudinal axis. The locating pin is sized to be positioned within an opening of the workpiece. A finger is positioned adjacent to the locating pin and movable in a transverse direction relative to the longitudinal axis to retain the workpiece on the locating pin. A linear actuator is configured to move the locating pin in opposite directions along the longitudinal axis. A locking arrangement is carried by the housing. A sequence cam is connected with the linear actuator in a manner allowing axial movement of the linear actuator to be converted into transverse movement of the sequence cam. The sequence cam includes an engagement surface which engages the locking arrangement to lock the locating pin and the finger against the workpiece upon retraction of the linear actuator.

Abstract: A welding clamp system using a fixture plate with a bulkhead that allows the clamp system to be coupled to a robotic arm. The robotic arm supplies air and electricity through pneumatic and electrical ports, enabling operation of the clamp system. The air is routed to pneumatic cylinders, which power a pneumatic clamp mechanism that moves sliding clamp fixtures along tracks. The sliding clamp fixtures press a work piece against immobile clamp fixtures, allowing a work piece to be secured and held during welding. Presence of a work piece is detected by proximity sensors which are mounted into the fixture. The clamp system allows a robotic arm to grab a work piece from a supply area, initiate and complete welding of the work piece, and then release the work piece onto a discharge station for removal of the completed work piece.
