Abstract: A mower blade sharpener apparatus has an automatic reciprocating holder means to sharpen lawn mower blades conveniently with any stationary circular flat-faced grindstone with its driving motor affixed to a common base. A housing frame having open opposing sides contains a blade holder with upper and lower securing clamps and a V-shaped cradle. The housing frame is attached by a screw to a carriage automatically moved back and forth a limited distance on a pair of parallel rods to sharpen the lawn mower blade. The housing frame and carriage are driven by a pneumatic system designed with a reciprocating movement of approximately 4 inches in a cycle duration of approximately a second. An on/off pneumatic valve switch automatically shuts off the pneumatic pressure when a semicylindrical shield which covers the blade portion not being sharpened is rotated back away from the blade.

Abstract: A hobbyist's tool comprised of a grid-like base member containing a plurality of uniformly shaped and uniformly spaced apart peg openings into which adjustable, flexible arms may be attached. Formed on the lower end of each flexible arm is an elastic bushing designed to fit snugly into one of the peg openings on the base member. Attached to the opposite, upper ends of the flexible arms are clamp, vise, or other retaining members which temporarily hold parts needed to be glued, painted, or otherwise held suspended. The flexible arms are made of a plurality of ball-and-socket joints that enable the part holders to be posed in various orientations and elevations. The flexible arms may be selectively removed and replaced in any of the peg openings on the primary base member to hold different parts. An optional secondary base member is also provided that may be perpendicularly aligned and selectively attached to different locations on the primary base member.

  • Patent number: 6527265
Abstract: A portable apparatus for supporting and maintaining fascia in proper position during installation upon the exterior of a building, such as a residential dwelling. A forked member is temporarily attached to the eave of the building. A cross member is connected to the forked member. The vertical position of the cross member, relative to the forked member, is adjustable and temporarily fixable. A support member, upon which the fascia rests and is supported, is connectable to the cross member. The horizontal position of the support member, relative to the cross member, is adjustable and temporarily fixable. By selectively adjusting the horizontal position of the support member, and by selectively adjusting the vertical position of the cross member to which the support member is connected, the position of the support member, and thus the fascia, is precisely adjustable in two dimensions. The apparatus thus permits the fascia to be held in proper place while the user permanently installs the fascia to the building.

Abstract: Universal holding fixtures or tools for holding oddly shaped objects or workpieces. The universal holding fixtures hold an object or workpiece having any shape and allows orientation of the object or workpiece so that all sides may be easily viewed and worked on. The universal holding fixtures comprise a plurality of dual axis clamps that are interconnected by way of rods to form an articulated structure. The dual axis clamps are individually moveable along the rods, are rotatable with respect to the rods, and are lockable to the rods to which they are connected. A preferred embodiment of the universal holding fixture has a base to which a plurality of clamps are secured that are interconnected by a fixed rod. The articulated structure is rotatably coupled to the fixed rod and is articulated relative to the fixed rod and the base so that distal ends of selected rods secured by the dual axis rotatable clamps are positioned to hold and/or support the object or workpiece.
