  • Patent number: 9095958
Abstract: A vise assembly has a pair of moveable jaws mounted on guideways for movement toward and away from each other. The moveable jaws are driven by a vise screw on the vise body through head members of a pair of jaw nuts. The head members fit into cavities on the underside of the moveable jaws and have projections on first ends that have surfaces engaging mating recessed surfaces formed on one end of the cavities. Adjustable plungers are mounted on the head members and are extendable outwardly from a second end of the head members to engage and drive against surfaces of the cavities in a second direction. The adjustable plungers are adjustable in length so they can be retracted into mounting bores in the head members so the moveable jaws can be mounted on and removed from the head members, and extended so driving surfaces of projections on the head members and of the plungers are both in engagement with surfaces of the cavities.

Abstract: Provision of appropriate fixtures for locating components for fabrication, machining and installation purposes is important. Traditionally, solid fixtures have been utilized but these have limitations with regard to consistency of orientation particularly if the fixture is removed from a base support or workbench regularly. By providing sheet elements for sides 2, 3 and spacers 4, 5 a robust structure can be achieved when these sheet elements are secured at corners to a base support 8 and to each other at top portions. In such circumstances the fixture 1 can present location plates 41, 42 upon a locator 43. The locator 43 comprises cross secured plates which extend through at least one cross hole to limit movement of the locator upon which the location plates 41, 42 are presented to axial displacement. Rigidity of the fixture is further reinforced by integrating its structure with its base-plate support.

Abstract: An omni-direction rotatable dual-cup suction device includes two suction cups, which are respectively combined with and in communication with two evacuation structures, so that the two evacuation structures can evacuate air from the suction cups to induce vacuum suction forces. The two suction cups are respectively provided with a mounting seat and an attaching seat for securely coupling the two evacuation structures. The mounting seat includes a pillar fixed thereto. A collar receives a ball end of a bar therein and is attached to the pillar. The ball-ended bar is coupled to a threaded rod, which extends through an internally-threaded locking knob and received into the attaching seat to be secured by a nut. With such an arrangement, one of the suction cups can be attached to a planar fixture surface, while the other suction cup can be used to hold an article and is orientation adjustable in any direction.
