Patent number: 4265441Abstract: A sheet dispensing device having a pair of lateral guides defining a space within a housing for insertion of a container containing a stack of sheets. The dispensing device comprises a conveyor, which is reciprocated within the housing to carry the uppermost sheet from the container and dispense the same from the device, and a separator designed to retain all sheets with the exception of the uppermost sheet in the container. The dispensing of a sheet operates a switch to then energize the copying machine. The container has a pair of laterally extending flange-like members to engage laterally spaced guides in the housing and is perforated along two sides on the upper surface to permit removal of a section of the container to expose the uppermost sheets.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1979Date of Patent: May 5, 1981Assignee: Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing CompanyInventor: Walter K. Patent number: 4245835Abstract: A film storage device that is placed between an X-ray film cassette and X-ray film processor. The device is capable of storing three X-ray films at a time and enables an operator to reduce the waiting time for a typical set of three films per patient to be made available. Each film drops from the cassette into a light tight enclosure where it engages the nip of a S shaped system of rollers and belts. The film is carried fast to the end of the belt system where a curved plate and roller system delivers it to a slower travelling set of rollers which are part of the processor. The curved plate and rollers ensure that the X-ray film is appropriately curved and in compression as it awaits processing. An electrical indicating device on the processor is connected electrically to a switch on the fast S shaped roller system. The operation of these controls ensures that the delivery of film to the processor can be halted if necessary while the first film is being processed.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1979Date of Patent: January 20, 1981Assignee: Ciba-Geigy AGInventor: George F. Patent number: 4245830Abstract: A sheet feeding unit includes a stack elevator which raises the top of a supported stack of sheets to infeed height. A sensor senses the position of the top sheets of the stack, to ascertain whether these exhibit improper left or right offset. Depending upon the magnitude and size of the sensed offset, the stack elevator is correctively shifted, to minimize offset at the top of the stack. Although the sensor is located to only one side of the stack, not at both sides of the stack, it is capable of sensing offset in both left and right directions. When the elevator is lowered, for the laying in of a fresh stack, it is automatically brought to a centered position.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1978Date of Patent: January 20, 1981Assignee: VEB Polygraph Leipzig Kombinat fuer Polygraphische Maschinen und AusruestungenInventors: Frank Fichte, Wolfgang Paul
