  • Patent number: 11345555
Abstract: A pair of regulating guides can guide both end edges in a sheet width direction Y of a sheet being conveyed being nipped by a conveying belt and balls. The pair of regulating guides can move to their respective guide positions each for guiding one of both end edges of the sheet and their respective retracting positions each retracting from one of the both end edges of the sheet by a distance larger than the guide position. A guide moving unit for moving the pair of regulating guides makes each of the pair of regulating guides reach the guide position from the retracting position after the rear end of the sheet passed from a conveying roller pair positioned on the upstream side to the conveying belt passes the conveying roller pair.

  • Patent number: 8313099
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the alignment of a sheet in a direction transverse (cross-track) to its transport direction in a sheet-printing machine, in particular in a digital printing machine, preferably in an electrographically operating printing machine. The object of the invention is to improve, in a simple manner, a method and a device of the aforementioned generic types in view of a first rough alignment of the individual sheet. Referring to the method, this object is achieved in accordance with the invention in that the individual sheet is flipped about a preferably non-physical, mathematical or imagined flipping axis extending in transport direction, and that this flipping produces a transverse offset of the sheet in transverse direction.

  • Patent number: 8249494
Abstract: An image forming apparatus capable of properly discharging a medium has a first medium stacking unit, a second medium stacking unit, and a guiding member for guiding the medium to the second medium stacking unit in a case that the second medium stacking unit is set in an opened state and guiding the medium to the first medium stacking unit in a case that the second medium stacking unit is set in a closed state. Since the guiding member guides the medium to the second medium stacking unit in a case that the second medium stacking unit is set in the opened state and guides medium to the first medium stacking unit in a case that the second medium stacking unit is set in the closed state, the medium can be discharged to the second medium stacking unit in a case that large normal curling occurs.

  • Patent number: 8210526
Abstract: A device for horizontally rotating flat articles supplied along a transport line (L) has a sliding plane (2) for restively receiving articles (F) in transit between the upstream and downstream branches (RM, RV). Two drawing groups are flanked and activated independently, each constituted by a lower roller (13, 14) and an upper roller (23, 24) rotating in an opposite direction, the rollers adheringly engaging with upper and lower surfaces of the flat articles (F). Command organs (10) activate the first and second drawing groups (3, 4), first in a same direction in phase relation with an entry of a flat article (F) arriving from the upstream branch (RM) and then in opposite directions in order to horizontally rotate the flat article (F) by a predetermined angle, and once more in a same direction for directing the rotated flat article (F) towards the downstream branch (RV) of the transport line (L), in a direction parallel to the entry direction.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus including a main body, a first guide member coupled to the main body so as to be rotated from a first position to a second position, and a second guide member rotatably coupled to the first guide member. The first guide position defines a first paper discharge path to discharge paper, a printed surface of which is inverted, when it is in the first position. The first guide member defines a second paper discharge path, along which the printed surface of the paper is directly discharged, when it is pivotally rotated from the first position to the second position. The second guide member guides the paper on the first paper discharge path and does not interfere with the paper on the second paper discharge path.

  • Patent number: 8061709
Abstract: A system and method for rotating sheets receiving cut sheets from a source and providing them to a utilization device. The rotator continually engages sheets with at least one drive component throughout the transport and rotation process. The rotator includes a transport mechanism having a plurality of nip roller pairs along the length of a feed table. The nip rollers (nips) can be selectively engaged with, and disengaged from, the driven rollers using discrete actuators. This allows for feed velocity differentials when entering and exiting the rotator feed table, and also for clearance during sheet rotation. A rotator disk assembly is centered on the table between, and comprises a driven rotator disk and an overriding, freely rotating pressure disk. When sheets enter or pass through the rotator section, the pressure disk is raised to provide a clearance for sheets to pass.
