  • Patent number: 7088384
Abstract: An image recorder includes a punch unit for punching a hole in a plate. The punch unit has six punchers disposed movably. Punches of the punchers can punch holes of different configurations. A punch of a required configuration moves to a required location toward a plate prepared on an upper tray of a feed/discharge unit. After a hole is punched in the plate by this punch, the plate is fed to a drum. This allows changes in the location of a punched hole in the plate without the need to simply increase the number of punchers when the range of plate sizes mountable on the drum is expanded. If competition in punch standards occurs, the image recorder allows a required puncher to be situated in a desired location.

Fluid is used to move a document in a pocket partially out of the storage apparatus through an opening and into registration with a gate and a wall of the pocket. Thereafter, the gate is opened and a drive associated with the exposure station moves the partially ejected document past a scan window. The rack is then vertically stepped to align another pocket with the opening and the procedure is repeated. Exposed documents are moved to a second fluidic storage station, similar to the first. At this station fluid drawn through an opening moves a document into a pocket of a rack and vertical movement of the rack is used to provide a separate pocket for each of the documents.

  • Patent number: 4017066
Abstract: A set separator for offsetting sets of sheets of paper is provided. A first set of paddle wheels is provided which, in one position, directs a sheet of paper forwards towards a stop wall and to one side, and in a second position directs the sheet of paper forwards towards the wall and to the opposite side. A pair of sideposts is spaced apart more than the dimension of the leading edge of the sheet of paper so that only one post is engaged by one side edge of a sheet of paper, when the paddle wheels are in the first position, and only the other post is engaged by the opposite side edge of a sheet of paper when the paddle wheels are in the second position. The sideposts rotate in directions opposite to one another to move the sheet forwards toward the wall. A second pair of paddle wheels, also spaced apart more than the dimension of the leading edge of the sheet of paper so that only one paddle wheel engages the sheet of paper at a time, is located adjacent the stop wall.

  • Patent number: 3948509
Abstract: A control device for the lateral stop on the feed table of a sheet feed device includes a control shaft mounted for axial displacement and rotary movement. A cam along with an operating lever and an actuating means are operable to effect the axial displacement and rotary movement of the control shaft whereby the lateral stop mounted on the control lever is raised and lowered relative to the feed table when the control shaft is rotated and the lateral stop is moved laterally when the control shaft is axially displaced.
