  • Patent number: 7942401
Abstract: The invention provides an ATM that can stably stack paper money by preventing the rotation of stack rollers when paper money is deposited. The ATM includes feed rollers, stack rollers, and elastic members. The feed rollers convey paper money separated one-by-one by pickup rollers onto a money withdrawal path, or convey paper money conveyed along a money deposit path into a recyclebox. Peripheries of the feed rollers are formed of rubber. Each of the stack rollers includes wings. When paper money is deposited, the stack rollers come in contact with the feed rollers. Peripheries of the stack rollers are formed of synthetic resin. The elastic members push the stack rollers against the feed rollers, and apply elastic forces to the stack rollers such that a frictional force between paper money and the stack rollers is smaller than that between paper money and the feed rollers.

  • Patent number: 6371474
Abstract: When it is detected that a first containing section contains or is being supplemented with used paper sheets, a CPU feeds the used paper sheets one by one to a table incorporated in a housing tray in a second containing section, via a conveyance path. When the housing tray is filled with used paper sheets, the CPU stops feeding and conveyance of used paper sheets from the first containing section to the second containing section, and confirms whether a main body is operating or is in a late-night standby state. If it is confirmed that the main body is operating or is in the late-night standby state, the table in the second containing section is moved into the third containing section, thereby shifting the used paper sheet on the table to the third containing section. The used paper sheets placed in the third containing section are fed to the main body one by one when necessary.

  • Patent number: 6331000
Abstract: A media storage system for an automated banking machine (10) includes a flipper member (90, 178) which is rotationally movable to engage sheets. A gripper member (138, 182) is movably mounted relative to the flipper member. The flipper member further includes an arcuately extending slot (92, 180). The sheet extending in the slot is held in fixed engagement with the flipper member by the gripper member. Rotation of the flipper member to a releasing position causes the sheet to be engaged with a stop surface (160, 188) as the gripper member moves to release the sheet. Sheets released by the flipper member are positioned in a stack (94, 184). The flexible flap (160) engages each sheet after it has been released by the flipper member to conform the sheet to the stack. In alternative embodiments a flipper member (178) includes a picker portion (202). Picker portion is selectively operated to remove sheets from the stack.

  • Patent number: 6299156
Abstract: A sheet supply system includes a sheet support table which is movable up and down and on which a stack of a plurality of sheets are supported, a sheet feed-out roller which feeds out the sheets on the sheet support table one by one from the uppermost one, and a table drive mechanism which moves the sheet support table up and down relative to the sheet feed-out roller. A level sensor detects the level of the uppermost sheet on the sheet support table, and a sheet feed-out level at which the uppermost sheet is kept during sheet supply operation of the system is set by use of an entry key. A controller actuates the table drive mechanism to move upward the sheet support table when the level of the uppermost sheet on the sheet support table as detected by the level sensor lowers by a predetermined value from the sheet feed-out level and stops the table drive mechanism when the level of the uppermost sheet on the sheet support table as detected by the level sensor reaches the sheet feed-out level.

  • Patent number: 6209861
Abstract: A sheet transport device is provided with a sheet inverting mechanism for retracting a sheet transported along a main transport route into a switchback route to invert the sheet transport direction and returning the sheet into the main transport route to turn the side of the sheet. The sheet transport device has a pair of sheet guides adapted in contact with respective opposite ends of the sheet set on a sheet setting portion to prevent a skew transport of the sheet. The sheet temporarily brought onto the sheet setting portion during a switchback operation from the switchback route is guided between of the sheet guides on the sheet setting portion. During the temporal appearance on the sheet setting portion, the opposite ends of the sheet are aligned by the respective sheet guides. Thereby, securely prevented is an occurrence of a skew transport state of the sheet during the switchback operation.

  • Patent number: 6206367
Abstract: An automatic sheet feeder for an ink jet printer is disclosed. The automatic sheet feeder includes a sheet support fixed to a frame. A shaft is rotatably secured to an upper portion of the sheet support, and rotates in a specified direction by a driving force from a driver. A sheet width adjusting guide is movably mounted on one side of the shaft such that a front end is movable along the shaft and a rear end is slidable keeping in contact with the sheet support. At least one feeding roller assembly is rotatably mounted on another side of the shaft, and includes a feeding roller for feeding a sheet by a rotation force of the shaft. The shaft rotates in such a direction that the feeding roller contacts the sheet, and the feeding roller rotates in an opposite direction of the shaft.
